55Loved this spot! Was amazing for my dogs to run, Emily was very sweet & considerate! Will definitely be returning!
55This was our first time using Sniffspot. Luna, my 4 year old neurotic White German Shepherd rescue had an absolute blast here at the Lone Tree Farm! There was plenty of space to run around and have fun. The owner was also incredibly nice and accommodating! The price was very reasonable. While it was great for our needs, there might be two minor considerations for other potential guests: (1) As I believe is mentioned by the owner, the outer fence is an electric fence (which was turned off for our visit). It is not enough of a barrier to physically prevent a small or medium dog from leaving, so that might be an issue for a dog with lesser training/impulse control. It wasn't an issue for us, though. (2) The owner does have horses on the property, and with advance notification, she was very accommodating in making sure they stayed in the barn during our visit. However, this does mean that there were some horse droppings present on the grounds. It wasn't a huge amount, and pretty easy to walk around, but should be noted so people wear appropriate footwear, and can prevent dogs from rolling in it or whatever. TL;DR: This Sniffspot is affordable and the owner is super nice. We loved our visit and definitely plan on going again. All in all these two quite minor concerns of fencing and horses/droppings didn't detract much from this picturesque farm. 4 3/4 out of 5 stars! -Nick and Luna
55We weren’t really sure what to expect initially, but it certainly didn’t disappoint! Emily was wonderful with communication with and was very helpful in giving us the information we needed. The pasture has some really pretty walking trails to take, there is a ton of room for pups to run, and it was very quiet, too. It was great to have a place for our dog to run without having to worry about him going too far. Even though this was our first Sniffspot location, we know we will definitely be back.
55Such a beautiful space to let your dog run around and be a dog! Emily is a great host! Norman and I will definitely be coming back!(:
55We really enjoyed our time here! Loved the big open area to let Kodi run around and explore. There were only a few spots that had tall grass/plants but we didn’t mind — Kodi actually loved sniffing around and running through these areas! Would definitely recommend as a spot to let your dog have fun!
55It was great! Unfortunately my boxer ran under the fence but once we got him back we leashed him for the rest of our visit. We were able to allow our Frenchton to run free, he listens really well though. 😊 Private, Trails and lots of smells!
55Beautiful property! We brought our pup to explore, and she loved it. As the post suggests, the horse fence wouldn’t keep all dogs contained (namely little dogs as it’s possible for them to slip right under). If your dog doesn’t have good recall or doesn’t stay close, you can keep them on a longer lead. Our dog stayed on a 20 foot lead and loved it. The horses may be visible, but you can go back further into the property if this is an issue for your dog. We will definitely return!
55We visited with our three pups who just loved this place! One of our pups is reactive and scared of just about everything under the sun. We were able to drive far enough from the barn that she didn’t feel bothered by the horses in the barn. She did look up from a distance over to them and the road but then went back to exploring. Our pups are a small breed, and though this is all fenced in, just be aware that small pups could potentially walk under the fence. We did hear kids playing from neighboring properties but not a big deal. We had two leashed (they would wander away if they could!) and one unleashed who stayed close. Lots of room to explore and some shade if you get warm. The owner had fresh water for the pups, which was greatly appreciated. We left with tired and happy pups! Thanks for a fun afternoon!
55Great local spot! My dog loved to run, smell, and even meet a horse during her visit. The fence is taller is some places, so make sure your pup has good recall if they can fit under it. Site was easy to find, beautiful and Emily was really communicative and a great host! We will definitely be back!
45Property was exactly as described, horse pasture with open field and also some shaded areas. My dog Chester enjoyed the new places to explore. I would recommend to others to make sure you’re wearing covered shoes and long pants, the trails are not mown down so there are lots of long weeds. Not a problem, I’ll just know better next time. Would also be useful if owner could let us know where to get water for the dogs, and where to dispose of dog poop bags. Thank you Emily! ☺️

Description

***EDIT*** THIS SPOT IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL LATE MAY 2023 DUE TO EXTREMELY MUDDY CONDITIONS. PLEASE CHECK BACK IN MAY. We have 7 acres of fenced private horse pasture that our horses do not use in the summer. Five minutes from Woodman’s. It is perfect for active dogs to run and play. After check-in, you may drive out into the pasture, park anywhere, sit and enjoy the quiet while you watch your dogs play, or go for a hike with them! Lots of open space, some wooded trails. Drinking water for dogs is available in the stock tank by the wood rail fence on your way in/out. It is cleaned daily.

Cleanliness

92% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

1) Horses - The horses are friendly and used to dogs and are rarely in the pasture, but still, I need guests to confirm with me before entering the pasture. 2) Gate - the entrance gate on the east side of the barn needs to be kept closed at all times. Guests can open it and drive through, but need to close it behind them. Guests can also park in the barn driveway and walk through the gate. 3) Electric Fence - The 4-strand electric horse fence is almost never turned on, but if someone were to grab it when it is on, or a dog's tail were to touch it, they would get a mild shock of around 700-1000 volts. It is more of an annoyance than a painful shock. I would recommend guests take their dogs farther out into the pasture to let them run without the distraction of the barn.
