55Beautiful ranch for our Raffi to run around. Lots to sniff and very safe. Elizabeth was easy to work with, welcoming and kind.
55Very spacious spot. My dog loved interacting with the horses through the fence!
55Great time!!
55Halo and Jake had a wonderful time today! They hit the ground running and didn’t stop for 30+ minutes! There were so many interesting things to smell! Elizabeth was really nice and showed us around when we arrived. There was a dog visible, but she never approached the fence - in fact, she stayed on her porch the whole time. The horse and goats kept their distance too. It was a perfect setting for my dogs to get the experience of the animals without the actual interaction. We’ll definitely be back!
55My pup loved this place! It was clean and didn’t have foxtails (or none that we saw stuck to our Bucky.)
55This property was amazing & beautiful for my 4 dogs, they loved roaming all over the property, and we enjoyed watching the horses and our dogs having a blast!!
55Elizabeth is so kind and our dogs had an awesome time exploring the area!
55A great property for our pups to roam free. It’s large so we followed them around to keep an eye on them. Definitely worth it to see them enjoy themselves 🐾 Thank you Elizabeth!
55What a beautiful spot!!! Amazing grounds, lots to sniff and explore. Very large area to run around and the host was so accommodating and easy communication. We will definitely be back as soon as we can!
55Communication with the host was great and the property was perfect. My only concern was the fact that my dog is nosy and was very interested in their home and kept hanging out on the porch which made me worried we’d bother or wake the hosts 😅 would love to visit again!

Description

We have our address numbers on the fence, in three places, and a GREEN metal gate, set far in, off the street. There are NO dogs OUTSIDE on our property! If you see a dog, or a trailer home, you're at our neighbors' gate! I REQUIRE seeing all dogs' full vaccine records for rabies and the parvo 5-in-1, or current titer testing results, BEFORE your first visit, and again at their due dates. After you book your visit, watch for a message on Sniff Spot from me. I will have you text or email me the records. We have 2.5 acres of running and playing space including 4,000 square feet of watered green lawn, covered porches, shade trees, a small seasonal field (short dry grass in summer, very wet and puddly in the rainy season, and longer grass and weeds, for a short time including foxtails, in the late spring and early summer), and a gravel and concrete driveway. It's surrounded by a view of many acres of pasture with horses, goats, chickens, and cattle, and the neighbors' one dog always visible along one small section of the fenceline. We have a four foot "farm and ranch field fencing" with electric fence along the top (turned off during your visit, if you prefer). The biggest squares in the fencing are 4 inch × 6 inch. Fencing is safe for most sizes of dogs, unless they can jump over 4 1/2 feet of fencing, or teeny tiny enough to squeeze under or between the gates and the 4"×6" squares in fence. (Like any of the toy or miniature breeds). For example, we had a 15 pound Bichon Frise for 16 years, and she never got out. There will not be any other dogs in the yard, but it may not ALWAYS be people free. As much as we will try to keep it people free, there is a high chance that a person who lives here might be coming home or leaving during your visit, or needing to go out back to the pasture. The gate will be opened and closed as quickly as possible for going in and out. Because of this, if you have a people reactive dog with no recall this is probably not the best Sniff Spot for you. The property is monitored by 24 hour monitored surveillance cameras and a security monitoring and alarm system. Absolutely no smoking or vaping of any kind, and no alcohol or drugs, anywhere on, around, or outside the property! We are severely allergic, it's toxic for dogs, and there's a high risk of fire danger. https://www.petmd.com/dog/poisoning/tobacco-nicotine-poisoning-dogs Kids can come with their adults, but MUST be supervised, and RIGHT WITH an adult the ENTIRE time. This is not a kids' play area service. This is a SniffSpot for dogs. If you choose to bring kids, they must not be a distraction from the dog, nor away from the adult at any time. We are a real working farm, ranch, family home, and wild, outdoor, nature environment. Please come prepared for changing weather conditions and varying terrain, including, but not limited to, uneven ground, water puddles, mud, slippery ground, pine needles, and seasonally, long grass, and occassional weeds with all manner of things that can get stuck in a dog's fur and paws, etc. There are always wild animals frequenting our property, bringing with them fleas, ticks, parasites, and any diseases that wild animals carry. The best defense is having your dog up to date on vaccines and flea and tick prevention. We check for current vaccine records before your first visit, mandatory. Open Monday thru Friday, 7am thru 3pm, except for certain blocked out times. Check the calendar. If you see a day with blocked times, message me on possibly opening up the time for you, if I'm able to.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

Puppies or dogs that put everything in their mouths must be supervised at all times. We have small river rock on driveway, hoses, drip tube, sticks, and some bark. Also, we request that dogs who like to dig would be supervised at all times, so that our plants and lawn don't get dug up. Thank you! This is a farm/ranch/private yard and home. If you bring children, you bring them at your own risk. Please watch after your children, and keep them WITH YOU and CLOSE to you at ALL times. Do not get distracted by your children, and thus not keep an eye on you dog, and vice-versa. This is a Sniff Spot for DOGS and for their owners to interact with their dogs. We have a kiddy pool for the dogs, as a paid extra, that you use at your own risk. Please beware, we have an above ground pool that is OFF LIMITS. (I take the ladder out when you're here). Thank you! It's foxtail season. We try to keep up without chemicals, but it's a time consuming process! We mow and weedwack as best we can. It's pretty good, but we can't guarantee perfect. We have blackberry bushes in one small section, along the fence. Also, wild animals always frequent our property and even live on our property (coming out mostly at night), such as cats, raccoons, opossums, squirrels, voles, gophers, foxes, rabbits, every kind of wild ground bird and perching bird you can think of in the valley and foothills, and very occasionally a deer has managed to leap in. There are always sources for bacteria, viruses, parasites, ticks, fleas, and other communicable things in ALL outdoor environments, including city and suburb dog parks, from all kinds of sources, no matter where one goes. Things can even be transmitted on peoples' shoes from city sidewalks and wherever else! We are not responsible for any of these. We have had large and small dogs on our property for over 34 years, and they have enjoyed living on, and visiting, and playing on our land without incident or injury. We have made our property as safe and clean as reasonably possible, but the outdoors are natural, wild, unpredictable, and uneven, so as always, you enter our wonderful, beautiful yard, property, and working ranch AT YOUR OWN RISK, and we do not assume any liability or responsibility for any injuries whatsoever. We occassionally have farm equipment and some construction materials sitting out if we are right in the middle of a project.

*If you are a brand new guest, please make sure I have indeed confirmed your visit with you, so I know you are coming before you show up. I require that I SEE your current full vaccine records, including Rabies and Parvo 5-in-1, or current titer tests, before your dog gets out of your vehicle. You can reach out in Sniff Spot messaging to get my text number, so you can text them to me, or bring them with you to your first visit. I need to let all family members know of your visit, to try to bring my cats inside, and make sure everything is dog proof and ready for your visit. *** This is a country retreat with vast land and multiple areas to explore, please check out our Sniffspot for a nature adventure if your doggy has a good recall only*** It's a 10-acre property with a vineyard, free-range chicken will be visible upon entering. Big open space slightly downhill on the left side of the vineyard. The middle part of the property is a small kid's playground that opens up to the pond where ducks and wild geese hang then it opens up to another open field terrain on the right and a small wooded area on the left which is still open and connected to the pond. This is the property line which is a WATERLINE (no fencing along waterlines) Once grape season starts which is typically the end of August-October, wild turkeys and deers may be visible because they love partaking from our future harvest but would be okay if your dog shoo them away :) Around harvest time may see more people than usual, intermittently due to harvest but sniffspot is way far down the road, so no worries about space! Summertime gets dry but we mow the land and the vineyard is in full bloom! Winter is a dormant period, rare to see people only a couple in the the middle of vineyard trimming around January until Spring time. It would be best if your dog is trained to do recall. If you are unsure about our property and still have questions and concerns, you are more than welcome to do an ocular inspection and if it does not fit your dog's needs and capabilities, we'll be more than willing to refund you, just send us a message. Thank you for reading all the details of the property before a visit as well! (Detailed map & pic directions sent after booking!)
