While this is a beautiful property with a lot of space and potential, it is not worth the price they are charging. There are clear signs to get to the kennel on the property, but no one was there to direct us towards the sniffspot itself, so we had to park and track someone down. The directions they gave were mostly unhelpful and without clear signs I'm not even sure we needed up in the correct place. The picnic tables are barely visible within 4 foot high grass. The shade awning is only a frame with no actual shade. The advertised portapotty does not seem to exist. The creek was difficult to find, but was okay once we did. 90% of the area is overgrown 4 ft high grass with no trails so be prepared to get very itchy. The place has great potential to be worth $25/hr, but as it is right now they are way overcharging.
We had such an amazing day with our very reactive German shepherd and our Serbian hound. The property is absolutely gorgeous and has so much space to run around and let your dogs play without distractions. Grass is high so my smaller dog did disappear in the grass a few times. Definitely recommend wearing boots and jeans as their is gravel and a lot of grass. An amazing experience! We will definitely be back!
I was a great spot! If your dog is reactive towards people or other animals this would be a great spot for you, we renting the space for 2 hours and we didn’t see another soul for the entire 2 hours besides when we checked in. Getting back to the field can be a little treacherous, but I got back there safely in my Kia so most vehicles should be fine! The grass is rather tall in some areas, so just keep that in mind. I wish it was a little bit cheaper than what it is, but we will be coming back in the future.
Wow, this place is incredible! It‘s also massive. We spent 2 hours there and have yet to explore more! Bruno enjoyed his zoomies in the various fields, and getting wet in the stream. There is also a forested bit that was quite magical, and you can also climb a little hill to see the entire play area from up there. Do wear waterproof boots as there are lots of puddles in the fields. There are also lots of rocks so be aware of your footing. The area is fully fenced except where the stream is (which serves as a natural barrier). There is no more porta potty but if you ask nicely, you can probably use the bathroom when you check in. You check in at the office of the boarding kennel (it’s a building on the right, there are lots of signs), then get back in your car, and drive down the hill and follow the sign that says “field”. We could at times hear the dogs barking from the kennels, but Bruno didn’t care. I did have to do a full body check once we were done because there were some foxtails and various seeds stuck to Bruno (and myself). We’ll definitely be back!
Great large area for my explorer! It was so fun to listen to his bells jingle and see him hope through the grass.
The check in process was very easy and the field is huge! We will definitely be back.
A great Sniffspot - very large and private. It took us an hour just to walk the perimeter. We were completely alone and didn’t hear or see any people or other animals. The grass is really tall right now - be sure to wear long pants even in the hot weather. Ground is uneven too so good walking shoes are a must. Overall, my dog loved it here and was really worn out from the exercise. Highly recommend!
Perfect for my reactive dog! Couldn't see or hear any other dogs or wildlife. Really beautiful and check-in was easy! I plan on visiting again! :)
My reactive dog had a great time! The acreage is great and there’s lots of different spots to explore. We didn’t hear a single dog, and it was so nice to be able to have fun and relax without stressing about other animals. We’ll be back!
Fantastic! I have two very large dogs and they had a blast running here. The creek was the best part - places to swim, lots of mud (for those who like it), even a frog they got to chase. It was very private, we never heard another dog which was great for my dog-reactive pup. Only warning to other dog owners is that there was a lot of blackberry (to be expected - it's Oregon, after all!), but for dogs like mine with long, fluffy coats they were running around with branches in their fur. Again, it's Oregon, no big deal, but just a warning if you have a long-haired dog.
Super fun spot and would HIGHLY recommend.
Check in was easy and our dog never saw or heard another dog. We kept her on a long line as we didn’t think the fence would contain her but it did let us know clearly where the boundaries were which was very helpful. We loved having so much space to explore without worrying about surprise dogs and Cora loved all the new smells and playing in the creek (she even got to see a beaver!).
Great spot for our newly adopted 9-mo old rescue to roam freely (and safely!!!) and get her sniffs out in zone that is free from other people and dogs. We are working with a trainer to help us support her reactivity issues-this location was a beautiful outlet for our pup to get stimulation and exercise safely...and make training so much easier after expending energy! Very grateful. We’ll be back. Highly recommend.
Really great Sniffspot! So much room to roam and explore! The creek is an added bonus. I was nervous at first about taking my reactive dog past the kennel to get to the Sniffspot area, but it turned out to be really easy. We parked at the kennel office to check in and then were instructed to drive down the hill to the Sniffspot area. As a result, my dog didn’t see any other dogs while we were at the kennel area. The Sniffspot area is really large and consists mostly of open fields. My dog had a great time roaming, running, and sniffing around. When he got hot, he took a dip in the creek. The area is completely fenced so we were comfortable knowing where the property boundaries were. The fence is about 4 feet and if you have a jumper they would be able to get over it. My dog jumps fences that high but with so much room to explore inside he wasn’t even tempted to go outside of it, especially since there weren’t any other animals or people in sight. I also appreciated the provided port-a-potty.
For reactive dog owners: I highly recommend this spot for reactive dogs. It’s completely private so you can relax while exploring the large area with your doggo
Drove here from Portland for more space. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Dogs had a great time romping around. The power lines through the center of the field can be noisy depending on your path selection. Some of the grasses are quite firm so firm soled shoes are ideal.
We drove down here from Hillsboro and it was definitely worth the drive! Our two labs loved exploring and swimming in the creek! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be back!
Check in at the boarding kennel, drove down a loose gravel road to the area. Dogs are in/around check-in and you can hear dogs barking. However, our reactive dog did great. Marshy/wet in some areas.
Uneven ground. Mostly easy to walk. Our dogs had an incredible time. We will definitely go back.
My dog had a blast running around. It felt very safe. The hosts were very helpful in getting oriented to the place. I highly recommend it.
