55Trails were well marked and well maintained! While the property is closely situated to the road, the trails immediately lead you away and down into the forest. Very quiet and secluded!
55We had a wonderful time! So many different paths to explore. It's nicely shaded and a great place to play hide n seek from your pup to test them!!!
55What an amazing spot! My girls and I couldn’t have been happier. Booked this spot to celebrate my girls seventh birthday and I will 100% be back. This is the happiest we’ve all been in such a long time. Highly recommend. 💯🐾
55Great spot with lots to explore! The host was also extremely considerate and has placed some concrete slabs around the areas that were muddier as an alternative to walk over. There are so many little areas that our pup enjoyed exploring and the trails bring a variety of exploration. Our dog is reactive and anxious and this place offers her the opportunity to explore nature stress free without worrying about her triggers! We will definitely be back!
55Had an amazing time at Martin’s sniffspot, you will love hearing the chorus of birds, and my dog had a blast exploring the many well-marked trails and playing in the creek. Bring waterproof shoes/boots as a few areas are a little muddy and you want to have the most fun while you’re here! This is a great, peaceful spot and your dog will have so much fun chasing squirrels and bunnies! Highly recommend!
55My new favourite spot! You can tell that the owner put so much effort into his property and it’s absolutely gorgeous. My dog had an amazing time splashing in the mud and water. We booked an hour time slot which was enough time to walk the majority of it, but next time I think I will book 2 hours. Definitely recommend! Thank you for letting us use your beautiful space!
55We had a great time visiting this Sniffspot. The area was nice and quiet, and the property was beautiful. There are plenty of different trails to go down. My dog absolutely loved it and we can't wait to come back. I would recommend wearing waterproof footwear as some places were fairly wet or muddy due to the season.
55We were visiting from out of province and this was the perfect spot for decompression walks. My dog especially loved the marsh and pond. As to be expected in early spring, there was mud in places, so waterproof footwear would be useful. We went twice because it was such a lovely place. Would definitely return.
55This was only our second time going to this sniffspot, but my dog made herself at home right from the get-go. She happily ran around the trails, and enjoyed getting herself muddy. Since I’m not so found of getting muddy, I appreciated the stepping stones in the muddiest parts😀. I now have a very happy, very tired (and dirty) dog, but n complaints here. Much more fun than walking the city streets. I also appreciate the owner’s blogspot, where they get us up to date on what they are doing to the trails.
55Great place! He provided a map, great signage, easy to get too!!! We really enjoyed 🙂

Description

***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD*** With big wide open trails, forest, marsh, creeks and wildlife, this doggy paradise is attracting visitors from all over southern Ontario. Trail map is found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1do57Iq23GVfcDxiEGihv7dVUWFXBSrGq/view?usp=drive_link Trails are open, mowed and maintained all year long. We host a beekeeper who has about 40 hives on a well-marked and avoidable section of one trail. The bees won't be out until April but please avoid the hives anyway. Read the reviews to get a good sense for what kind of experience you will have. We are grateful for all the positive feedback and pledge to make your experience just as fantastic.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

This spot has a water feature, make sure to review these guidelines for visiting spots with water before visiting: https://help.sniffspot.com/article/167-how-to-keep-your-dog-safe-around-pools-and-water Bee hives on one trail - they don't like small dogs! Easy to avoid, well marked. Bees aren't active in fall and winter, but stay away from the hives anyway. We live out in the country and there are coyotes. They are very shy, and if you stay on or near the trails you will never see them. Avoid dusk or early morning if this is a concern for you. The west side cutover from Meadow to Black Walnut can be up to a foot deep.

Host replied: I really appreciate your kind words and stunning photos! Dusk lighting is magical, isn't it? The mud is slowly subsiding, thank goodness. I am going to install a bridge at the crossing to the Meadow trail. Details in the blog - go to https://tinyurl.com/4x4ytypz

I love to ski, so I cut a lot of trails. My dog Teddy is a shy but friendly Shitzu-Poodle mix who likes to go on long walks. Teddy and I are happy to share the trails with other dogs.

Private Dog Park In Waterdown at Goldenwood Acres

***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD.*** **Gate is back up and Fully Fenced as of April 21, 2024** Welcome to Goldenwood Acres! On our 26 acre hobby farm, we have a 6 acre fully fenced farm field/dog park. Ride up and park at the white barn, and walk your leashed puppers to the field past our gardens, woodlots, and ponds. From the barn to the dog park you will get familiar with our surroundings and other fences. There is access to the forest and two ponds on the property. Crossing through the tree line, you have private access to the 6-acre field. Four-foot tall fencing is installed for your security. The best time to come is May to September. Come walk between the sunflower rows that grow up to 10 feet tall in the late summer! We cut the field between the sunflowers, make trails and play spots. We also leave big areas untouched for our honeybees (hives located in the other field). Enjoy seeing natural landscapes, trees, and privacy. Have fun, play catch and let your animal have unleashed freedom! We have uploaded a printable "safety map" for each season, that contains a legend for your use. Note the fire pit is not available during the winter season. Park has one main gate. This season we will also be placing picnic tables with a BBQ for large groups. I recommend booking the summer weekends in advance as they will fill up fast! Fencing Details: The 6-acre Dog Park Field is permanently fenced with approximately 2,500 linear feet of 4’ tall farm fence. The farm fence consists of professionally installed 2” by 4” squares of wire mesh (commonly used for smaller livestock such as sheep, donkey, cows, etc) and cedar posts. If you look at the photos you can see the locations of the gate on the main photo or on “safety map” (see photos and captions). We have more fencing on other parts of the property outside of our dog park in case your dog does not have good recall. Refer to the safety map (see photos). If you have any questions, please let me know.
