Being able to have Barb’s property entirely to ourselves was the most amazing feeling! Our pup had SOOOOOO much fun and was right in her element. She was able to explore and just be a dog, while myself, my husband and our children were able to have a relaxing stress-free time with her knowing there wasn’t any chance of conflicts with other dogs. We live in Canada just across the border so Barb’s property is very conveniently located and just a short drive from the Aldergrove/Lynden crossing for any other Canadians looking to experience the ideal Sniffspot. Barb greeted us upon arrival and was so lovely and welcoming. We appreciated the amenities her property offered including the hose to clean our pup off before hopping back in the car. 55I was concerned about how much mud there would be this time. Barb told me where I could rinse off my dog with a hose if I wanted to. Yesterday, two of our dogs ran the perimeter of the large green grassy field upon exiting the forest, and they just meandered, sniffed, cantered a bit until they were back with us at the first gazebo. Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers).
