55I just got back from my visit to Leah’s place and we had a wonderful time. This is a quiet place with lots of space to run. My dog is reactive and he didn’t even bark once, he was too busy running around. Leah is also very nice and friendly :) thank you!! Fiona P.

55This was our first time using SniffSpot. Our 18 month lab is full of energy. This way a wide open space with nice views. We took our lab to the small stream and she promptly laid down in it! She had a great time sniffing and chasing her ball. Highly recommended! We will definitely come back!Rick S.

55Fantastic host! Beautiful huge spot. So much to do. If you have a husky or a GSP who needs to run forever, this has three sides fenced. But anyone else, it so big that they don’t go anywhere. River F.

My boy Norman is asleep next to me right now. He ran his little tail off and had a blast!
Thank you Leah for opening up your property to Norman and I for a fun day. It was a warm and beautiful day- lots of Spring green grass. Very scenic and beautiful drive to the property as well.

55Had such a great time hanging out with Leah! I thought I was just taking my husky out to explore some land on the country side, but little did I know, we were going to meet a friend. Leah is great to talk to and her spot is absolutely wonderful. It’s great to get away from the city and just chill where’s it’s quiet and all you hear are animals in the background. Azula had a great time sniffing everything and playing fetch? Huskies don’t fetch?? But today she did. I feel terrible - Azula’s not a digger, but she also dug a hole to get a mole or a vole 😞 Leah was very nice about it. Can’t wait to go back! Evie N.

55Beautiful open area! Yard is really well maintained (no tall grass) with lots of trees for shade. Like the description mentions, the property/yard is partially fenced. Still, the fence around the property is clear and our dog saw and was able to respect the boundary (with encouragement). Hope to visit again soon!Kathryn J.

55Beautiful open space! Lots of space to run if your dog is ball driven, and tons of things to sniff and check out if they’re not (how our dog spent her time!) Stephanie is understanding of the “big reactive dog” types of concerns, which is greatly appreciated as wellKathryn J.

55Good spot! Nice combination of shade & sun on the level yard. Good area for running & fetch. Neighbor dogs, ppl and roosters could be seen and heard but there’s enough space in between that Joey stopped paying attention to them. Spot was well- maintained w/ a full water dish, chairs & treats! We’ll definitely be back😊Jane S.

55Visited this spot with my 10 month old shepherd mix and 9 year old maltipoo. The half acre pasture was perfect for what I needed: a place to allow my maltipoo to sniff and explore while I do frisbee and practice recalls with my pup on a grassy area. Was clean, and no rain for the week allowed for field to be dry. No mud. There was a picnic table in the shade, which was nice because I went closer to noon and needed it. Host also had out a big bowl of fresh water, which was appreciated by pups. Fencing was secure and I felt comfortable with my dogs, but if you have an escape artist, you may need to bring a rope or something to better secure the gate. I missed this location at first. Street to pull off of is small road not a full street. Parking was clearly marked. It was lovely and I hope to return. Teresa G.

FAQ about our Shingle Springs dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 97% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Shingle Springs area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 108 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 17 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
