15Drove an hour only to be told it was closed. She did refund me right away though
15I'm sure this will be a lovely spot when it's ready to open. My first visit was cancelled because Shai was helping out with a cruelty case. I rebooked and received a message the night before that she was trying to have things ready to open the next day and would keep me updated if anything changed with my reservation. She apparently sent another message to cancel, but because she's in a rural area, it didn't go through with spotty internet. My dog does not do well in the car, but for some off-leash time I figured it would be worth the drive. So we had an hour and twenty minute drive there (and of course Digby threw up :( ), only to find out the park is not ready to open yet. The fencing is not complete. I brought Digby on a short walk (probably 15 minutes tops) at a park nearby with short grass. Thank goodness my friends had warned me how bad the ticks were in the area. I had to pull over to remove one from my pants on the drive home. When we got home, I found 3 on Digby- 2 attached. Luckily he's on Nexgard, but still time consuming to check him over. All in all, it was a pretty stressful day for something I thought would be a fun time. I don't think booking should be allowed until the park is actually ready to open. And where the internet is unreliable, it would be good for Shai to find a way to ensure the message gets through, or to get a phone number to call the person to notify them of any cancellations. She did say that it had happened to one other person before. As I mentioned, she does seem like a very sweet person, and I'm sure eventually this will be a nice place to go.

Description

***Charges will be in USD*** A natural park nestled behind our farm. A tree canopy, sniff and enrichment toys, benches, fresh water, 6ft reinforced fence and total privacy. Available by the hour. $5/each additional household.

None. Park is groomed multiple times a day and prior to every visit.

We live on a working farm. Depending on what is in season, we always have something fresh from the farm available for sale. We currently farm 9 market gardens for our local community via Heart and Soil Farm.

Handcrafted tug toys$20

Exclusively available to park guests at a discount. Handcrafted biothane tug toys equipped with brass studs and a glow in the dark bully-proof ball. Ideal for any breed to enjoy inside of the park and on any trail. Floats very well in any water system as well. Regular price $28.

Health Mutts Dog Treats$14

Regular $18/bag, available to park clients for $14. "ALL of Health Mutts free range products are hormone, steroid, and antibiotic free. All sourced from Martock Glen Farm (formally known as Oulton's Meats) in Windsor N.S. Our Nük line is all restaurant quality, from Armstrong Pork, Atlantic Beef and Eden Valley Chicken."

Leashes, Collars and Harnesses$20

A multitude of gently used dog gear is available for a donation. All donations go to Heart and Soil Dog Rescue. Send a PM, we probably have an item you need.

New Rescue/Foster Training$75

A one hour class covering the basics of transitioning your new rescue dog into your lifestyle and home. Available virtually or inside of the park.

Private trail to waterfalls$10

An hour entirely dedicated to you and your dog. Walk our groomed trails to a private, shallow waterfall setting where your dog can cool off in the LaHave River.

Only one booking is allowed at a time at any spot and there is an enforced 30 min buffer between all bookings to ensure dogs in separate bookings do not meet.

Visits can be moved or cancelled up to 2 hours before a visit.
Visits can be extended and dogs can be added throughout the visit.
