Hi there! I’m Megan and I 💕 dogs. My spot is a block from Starbucks & Publix (fantastic deli). My backyard is half shaded and half sunny with lush grass, 8ft fencing, a double gate, and huge with lots of area to explore. Six modern adirondack chairs & ample beverage tables will keep you comfy. Enjoy the shade from the large mature trees and relax & enjoy playing with your pup! Please keep your dog(s) leashed always until you are inside the SniffSpot. Close both gates during visit. Keep dog(s) off furniture. If dog(s) go onto furniture clean dog prints off of furniture. Trampoline use is not included in Sniffspot. Seven Acres, Mostly Fenced, Waterfront access on Mill Creek.

Partially Fenced
7.8 acres

We hope you will give us a try and visit Nashville's very first Sniffspot and the most popular Sniffspot in middle Tennessee to this day! Read on for details … we love sharing our secret place! This Sniffspot is very conveniently located in southeast Nashville, 20 minutes from downtown, right near Bell Rd/Nolensville Rd between the Hickory Hollow pkwy/Tanger Outlets i24 and Bell Rd exits and the Brentwood i65 Old Hickory Blvd exit. An idyllic setting offers 7+ park-like acres of old farm land, mostly fenced, that includes waterfront access to Mill Creek with adventures for all kinds of humans and dogs to enjoy activities like playing, running, sniffing, digging and playing in the water. Come get your steps in and spend some quality off-leash time! Training, photo shoots, picnics, birthday and gotcha parties, just explore, rest, or relax in the Adirondack chairs while your dogs sniff, zoom, roam, retrieve, sniff, dig, walk, run, and sniff some more. There's creek access to swim, pastures to roam or nap, play areas of tall grass the dogs can explore, sniff, dig or derp around. Even plan your picnic on a blanket or use the picnic table. Get some exercise on the trampoline (Note: use at your own risk!). Make this sniffspot your private oasis for as long as you want.. Kids are always welcome! Just book your play time, bring at least one dog and all humans are free! Mill Creek borders the very back of the property and is available for water play but trees and vegetation and overall acreage makes it easily avoidable if that's not your thing. If you choose to venture to the creek and have a runner, you may want to bring a long lead. The water levels are usually below the knee, but the ability to use Mill Creek safely depends on you, the creek conditions, and amount of recent rainfall. Always assess the abilities of you and your pets- as safety comes first! As Dirty Harry once said, "A man's got to know his limitations." The majority of the property has fencing so once you pass the house on your way to the back fields it's off leash play time! I recommend considering walking the perimeter first (on or off leash) to orient yourself with property features and assess potential escape opportunities. Your dog(s) will benefit from a perimeter walk allowing them to visually identify, mark their spots, and collect sniffs while at the same time reaping the benefit of your pack leaving an invisible "bread crumb" scent trail as you walk which will assist a dog with future identification of the established boundaries as well. This is a natural instinct for many breeds. Note that Mill Creek along the back of the entire property is not fenced but it is mostly obscured at dogs level by trees and vegetation. Tip: When leaving, you may want to leash up before you reach the house - especially if you have a runner since there is no fence on the side of the house you enter and leave the spot. Depending on the water table, there is also a small feeder stream gently flowing through the middle of the property between the side and back fields. It can be great fun for a dog to explore and jump in and out of (just try and stop them!) And great for smaller dogs if Mill Creek is too intimidating. Hint: bring towels! The mature tree lines always provide plenty of shade for those hot summer months. Several foot bridges are available to cross over that small stream between the side and back fields while exploring, and you might even find the occasional old fashioned rope wood swing. A black hose with spray wand attachment is hanging by the house at the entrance/exit i behind the fence if you need to rinse you or your pet. Turn on and off at the front of the house please. Another green hose is available hanging on the opposite corner in the back of the house by the BACK garage door for your use -along with a water bowl. That house is convenient when you're coming back from the creek for sure. Feel free to pick yourself wildflowers if they are blooming (late Spring/Summer Varieties), or snack on some blackberries off the fence line if you happen to come while they are ripening (usually mid-June to mid-July).... Bug spray is always recommended spring through fall, Just in case! You can't have all this nature without all the nature. 😉 If the calendar shows the time slot you want is available then book it and it's yours! Be last minute, that's fine! Be spontaneous, that's great! No advanced notice required. (2 hour minimum cancellation required.) If your reservation is early or mid morning, consider to wear waterproof shoes. The dew on the grass will soak your feet! Multiple dog discounts really add up! All dogs after the first dog are 50% off the hourly rate! Bring your pack and/or their friends for a doggy play day! 👍🐾🐾 You are dedicated If you're still reading this far, and maybe you are considering your first visit?? If so, use promo code 'Chip' which is valid to get 5 dollars off your first visit only! 😉 Contact me with any questions and if you would prefer to meet and/or have a guide to walk the property the first time, if I am available, either or both my wife and I would be more than happy to accommodate that! Last, honest feedback and suggestions to improve our spot are very welcome and appreciated! And leaving positive reviews along with sharing pictures of your pet's visit enjoying the property are a host favorite, and will help our Sniffspot as well as others who haven't been here before! Thanks so much, Chip

Your Complete Guide to Dog Parks in Nashville

Rolled up to Shelby Dog Park on a Saturday and realized half of East Nashville brought their furry friends to the exact same spot? Or tried Warner Dog Park when it's 95 degrees with Tennessee humidity that makes you regret every decision? Nashville dog owners are dealing with a lot. The city's exploding with new residents and their dogs, public off-leash dog parks get absolutely mobbed on decent days, finding parking anywhere is a nightmare, and locating a spot that isn't overrun with bachelorette party dogs feels like striking gold.

Nashville's got public spots scattered around—Shelby Dog Park, Warner Dog Park, Gulch Dog Park near Vanderbilt, Pitts Dog Park, Riverfront Dog Park at Riverfront Park, even the commercial Urban Dog Bar and Bark Springs Park—but here's what that actually means. Packed fenced area where your dog can barely move, codes and signs about vaccination requirements, collars and tags, identification tags, current tag information, and water fountains that need refilling constantly.

Dog owners from East Nashville to Green Hills to The Gulch are over the Metro Parks chaos. They're booking private Sniffspot yards where their dog isn't one of seventy competing for play space. No dog bite drama with tourists' poorly trained furry friends showing aggressive behavior, no honky-tonk crowds, just dependable fenced-in land.
Why Nashville Dog Owners Love Private Dog Parks

Public off-leash areas here have real problems. Dog's still working on recall? You need secure fenced area, not hoping they won't bolt toward Broadway. It's summer and pushing 100 with suffocating humidity? Water fountains and shade aren't negotiable. Dog gets stressed around large dogs or overwhelmed in chaotic play space during organized activities at Metro Parks or CMA Fest weekends? Private bookings solve that completely.

Nashville Sniffspot hosts understand Music City living. Properties with actual shade (critical for summer), agility equipment and obstacle courses for high-energy breeds, functioning water stations year-round, some even have artificial turf for easy maintenance. Nobody's verifying if other dogs are spayed or neutered. No concerns about communicable diseases in overcrowded tourist-heavy spaces. No dealing with aggressive behavior from poorly socialized dogs. Training with food or treats? Way more effective without hot chicken food trucks as distractions.

What Your Nashville Dog Actually Needs

Nashville dogs need more than standard off-leash dog parks. Fully fenced areas that handle Tennessee weather swings. Water fountains that work during brutal summer months. Proper waste stations and bag stations for dog waste cleanup—because Nashville heat makes dog waste situations worse fast. Walking areas with maintained ground cover, not just dirt that turns to mud when storms roll through. Play space away from the constant growth and construction chaos.

Where to Find Dog Parks in Nashville

Over 470 Sniffspots blanket Nashville and surrounding areas. East Nashville, Germantown, The Gulch, 12 South, Sylvan Park, Green Hills, Belle Meade, Hillsboro Village, Donelson, Hermitage, Antioch, Madison, Goodlettsville, Hendersonville, Mount Juliet, Franklin, Brentwood, Spring Hill, Murfreesboro, Smyrna.

Filter for dog fields for runners, fenced areas with shade, obstacle courses for active breeds.

Pro Tips for Nashville Dog Park Visits

Book early morning or evening from May through September to avoid peak heat. Bring excessive water (humidity dehydrates furry friends fast), poop bags for dog waste stations, maybe a cooling vest. Avoid booking during major events unless you want traffic nightmares. Food or treats for training? Pack them.

The Sniffspot difference: your time is totally private. No off-leash dogs while their owners are bar-hopping on Broadway. No navigating aggressive behavior at overcrowded Metro Parks. No circling for parking near Riverfront Park just to access packed play space. Just reliable fenced area where your dog can run without Music City chaos. Browse hundreds of Nashville options above and book your spot.

Green Acres!

Fully Fenced
3 acres

Welcome to our private farm! We live on site and will close our main gate once guests enter, ensuring the property is secure. Please inform us if there will be more than one car so I won't close the gate too soon. The pasture is fully fenced, partly with 4 board fencing, and partly with horse safe wire fencing along main road and wooden panels against neighboring property. Our current pasture is 3 acres with mainly open fields and a few trees and bushes. When it rains, there can be a small creek down by the road. The neighbor has a small dog that comes out on occasion, but there are panels on the fencing between our properties, so dogs won't be able to see through. We have a German Shepherd dog on site, but will keep her inside during guest appointments. To access the entrance, guests will need to drive past the main house, go to the right and up the hill towards the barnyard. Buildings in barnyard are not available for guests except for use of the hose, which is marked. Located in the upper barn breezeway ( concrete floor) to the left of the parking site. Hose available. Signs are provided to help guests find the hose area, park entry, and parking. Guests: please feel free to move the chairs as needed to stay in the shade or sun for your comfort!

Nashville Dog Parks Tips from Dog Owners and Walkers

Shelby Dog Park in Nashville, a public dog park. Open daily.

Nashville's dog community has grown alongside the city, and local knowledge is worth seeking out. Here's what experienced owners know.

Nashville Dog Parks Advice 1: Two Rivers is the best park in the city -- treat the timing accordingly

Seven acres sounds like a lot, and it is, but Nashville's dog population has grown to match it. Weekends after 10 am can get genuinely crowded, and the shaded pavilions fill up fast in summer. Weekday mornings before 9 am are when the park is at its best: well-maintained, quieter, and populated by the regulars who know each other well. If you can build a morning routine around Two Rivers, do it.

Nashville Dog Parks Advice 2: Nashville summers arrive fast and hit hard

The humidity here surprises people more than the heat does. By late May, afternoon outdoor exercise is already an uncomfortable proposition for most dogs. July and August require the same early-morning or evening scheduling discipline you'd apply in Houston or Atlanta. Centennial Park has better tree cover than most and helps, but all Nashville parks need the same basic summer calculus: morning only, plenty of water, sessions shorter than you think you need.

Nashville Dog Parks Advice 3: Combine Shelby Dog Park with the Greenway for a complete outing

The Shelby Park Greenway is right there and worth using. After a run in the dog park, leashing up and walking a section of the greenway adds enrichment and sniff time without requiring a second trip. Nashville's greenway system has expanded considerably in recent years, and Shelby's location makes it a gateway to miles of trail. It's the kind of outing that actually tires a dog out properly.

Popular Nashville Public and Private Dog Parks

Nashville's dog park scene has grown significantly alongside the city's population boom, and a few parks have become genuine anchors for local dog owners. The overall quality is higher than most people expect before they move here. Some of the best-known Nashville public dog parks are:

Two Rivers Dog Park

Open daily. Seven acres of off-leash space with shaded pavilions, mature trees, doggie water fountains, rocks and natural land features for exploration, and a paved walkway running end to end. One of the best-resourced public dog parks in Tennessee, and a place locals genuinely rely on as a daily destination rather than a weekend treat.

Warner Dog Park (Edwin Warner Park)

Open daily. Set within Edwin Warner Park, a peaceful and shaded retreat with varied terrain, water fountains, waste stations, and easy parking. Less crowded than Two Rivers on most days, which makes it a strong alternative for dogs who do better with a quieter, more predictable environment. The natural park setting surrounding it adds real value to the overall outing.

Shelby Dog Park

Open daily. A large, grassy, fenced park near the Shelby Park Greenway trailhead, with benches, a doggie water fountain, and a paved walkway. The proximity to the greenway system is what makes this one stand out: after the off-leash session, leashing up and walking a section of trail is a natural next step that extends the outing without requiring a second trip.

Why choose a private dog park in Nashville over a public one?

Nashville has grown faster than almost any other major US city over the past decade, and the dog park infrastructure has not quite kept pace. Two Rivers is excellent, but it draws from a large catchment area and fills quickly on nice weekends. For a city that now has a large population of younger professionals with dogs in apartments, the demand for off-leash time consistently outpaces what public parks can comfortably absorb.

Nashville's Sniffspot hosts offer spaces that fill in the gaps: private yards across East Nashville and other neighborhoods, open fields in the suburban ring, and properties that work for dogs at every stage of training. If your dog is reactive, newly adopted, or still getting started on socialization, a private space is often the better first step before introducing the busy weekend park scene.

Frequently asked questions about Nashville dog parks

What amenities do private dog parks in Nashville offer that public parks don't?

Nashville private dog parks offer amenities you'll never find at public facilities: swimming pools for water-loving dogs, agility equipment for training, climate-controlled indoor spaces for year-round use, hiking trails on private property, and secure fencing customized for different dog sizes. Hosts provide poop bags, water stations, toys, and even dog wash stations. Seven Acres, Mostly Fenced, Waterfront access on Mill Creek. is especially known for exceptional amenities. Every Nashville listing shows exactly what's included—no surprises.

Are there fully fenced private dog parks in Nashville?

Yes! Most of Nashville's 492 Sniffspot locations are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed fencing specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, or reactive dogs who need contained space. Nashville listings show fencing photos so you can verify security before booking.

How clean are private dog parks in Nashville compared to public ones?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Nashville are maintained by overworked city staff and often littered with waste from dozens of dogs daily. Sniffspot hosts in Nashville maintain their own spaces and take pride in cleanliness since it directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Nashville hosts provide fresh poop bags, empty trash regularly, and sanitize water stations. Plus, with only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal. Check reviews to see cleanliness ratings.

What types of dog parks can I find in Nashville?

Nashville has 492 diverse options: fully fenced dog parks for specific training activities, small dog parks for different environments, and dog fields for varied experiences. Want a backyard for simple off-leash time? We've got it. Need acres of trails for hiking? Check. Looking for water access or agility obstacles? Available. Browse by park type to see what matches your dog's interests, then filter by location within Nashville to find convenient options.

Can I book Nashville dog parks on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Nashville Sniffspot locations offer same-day or next-day availability, and most bookings can be made instantly without waiting for host approval. Unlike public dog parks that might be crowded during peak times, Nashville private parks let you reserve exactly when you need them—early morning before work, midday breaks, or evening exercise. Check individual listings for real-time availability and booking policies.

Do Nashville dog parks have water access?

Many do! Filter Nashville's 492 locations by amenities to find dog parks with swimming pools, natural ponds, creeks, or beach access. Water features are perfect for Nashville's hot summer days or for dogs who love to swim. Each listing specifies water type and depth, plus whether it's safe for swimming or just wading. Some Nashville hosts provide life vests or shallow kiddie pools for water-nervous dogs.

Are there indoor dog parks in Nashville?

Yes! Nashville has climate-controlled indoor options perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Nashville locations typically feature rubberized flooring (easier on joints), artificial turf, or padded surfaces. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs needing gentle surfaces, or reactive dogs benefiting from enclosed environments. Filter by "indoor" to see Nashville's covered and climate-controlled options.
