A nice large space. Plenty of room to really run. It’s very hilly & a lot of uneven ground. The driveway, where you enter is steep and there’s a dog next door behind a chain link fence, so if your dog is reactive, just be aware. I contacted the host about 10 minutes prior to reservation to confirm no other animals would be present. Her remark came off a bit snarky, but maybe she didn’t mean it that way? Her husband had to put goats away, and their German Shepherd puppy was tethered near the house and barked most of the time that we were there. He had water, shade & a bed, but I felt that they should take him inside so visiting dogs are not triggered by his barking. The whole premise of this service is to provide a private area for dogs, especially reactive dogs. I don’t think guests should have to ask about putting other animals away; they should be out of site whenever a reservation is made. I also didn’t see garbage cans or a water bowl, but there is a hose at the rear of house. I found a toy wheelbarrow that I used as a bowl. At a minimum, I think a bowl should be out without having to ask. With just a few adjustments, it could be a great spot. My Doberman loved stretching his long legs!
Beautiful large space for dogs to run. Completely fenced which is a huge plus! I would give 5 stars, but their were goats in the space when we arrived so we had to wait for them to be moved, no big deal. After the owner moved the goats, They left their dog leashed up outside on the other side of the fenced area, and I messaged the host asking if they could take the dog inside, but I didn’t receive a response. Unfortunately my dog is very anxious and reactive around other dogs so the two dogs barked at each other like crazy until my husband and I decided it wasn’t fair to the neighbors for the dogs to be barking so much at each other so we had to leash up our dog and stay in one section of the space. We would like to return in the future if the owners dog could be kept inside!
Great large spot for dogs to sniff and run around. Be aware that during the summer, there is no shade and all the grass becomes a rough straw-like ground cover. It was a little pokey on my dog’s paws. Found a few foxtails, so just be cautious. Also if your dog eats poop, there is goat(?) poop around the area closer to the house.
This is a great place with spacious area for dogs to run! Being fully fenced is a huge plus! Our dogs had a great time there. The place also has chairs for human to rest. There were two goats in the area and the host helped move the goats out of sight. The neighbor’s dog was present near the fence and approached the fence for some time. One of our dogs is leash reactive so ended up barking a lot at the end of the session. Overall great experience, leash-reactive dog may need owner’s careful management if neighbor’s dog shows up.
Huge spot for dogs!
This spot has a huge dry grass pasture with a slope and very uneven ground - it is a pasture. The smaller side yard is relatively level. You can hear their goats (which were securely locked up out of sight) on the property. There are also neighboring goats visible. Our dog was totally fine with it. Not all the amenities were set out. It was a hot day and we were looking forward to the kiddy pool as our dog gets very hot running around. But it was not out. We did not see a trashcan and there was some trash items around the area that you would sit at. On the way out the neighbors dog was reactive at the fence. This Sniffspot has a really good potential to be a great place.
