55A little bit of a drive out of town but easy access and lots of space for the doggos to run around! Thereโ€™s chairs for sitting and drinking water for the dogs. Well fenced in so I didnโ€™t have to worry about my escape artist ๐Ÿ˜† Megan made it a point to come out and introduce herself, so it was nice to meet the owner. A little muddy, but thatโ€™s to be expected this time of year, so bring a towel ๐Ÿ˜‰ Probably one of the best sniff spots Iโ€™ve visited. Thank you, Megan!
55The location is extremely easy to find and has signs everywhere. Water access, waste disposal and poop bags are readily available. Just as amazing as last time. It started raining hard and snowing a little but the pups still had a ball running around and playing fetch. We brought 3 dogs this time and they had so much room to run!! Highly recommend
55Jasper Memorial Park was great! Fully fenced, water provided, clean space, digging spot, poop bags, etc. Our dogs had a fantastic time, our toddler was even able to ride his balance bike while we walked the property. Excellent visit all around!
55Wonderful!
55Such an amazing and peaceful spot!
55This was our first ever sniff spot and it set the bar high for others to follow. We got to meet the owner who was so nice and offered contact in case anything was wrong, we had questions, or concerns. Our two pups loved exploring the cleared space, trees, sandbox, and all the smells. They have also created paths and placed bark down to be able to walk the whole area. With the respiratory virus going rampant right now through canines these spots are ideal to let the pups get smells of other dogs without risking exposure. 10/10 recommend!
55Our dogs love it here! Nice mixture of some trees and field and a great place to walk about. Thank you!
55Beautiful place, our dogs loved it! Thank you!

55Maui loved the sandbox for digging and cooling her belly after running and running, sniffing all around. There were chairs for lounging and plenty of fresh water for pups. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Description

**Finally, Jasper Memorial Sanctuary is ready to host dogs. The recovery of this area following the January storm has been extensive. Please be mindful of the scope of the damage and tread lightly to allow the land to recover. As new trees and shrubs are planted in the fall, please ensure that they are not damaged by dogs. There will be ongoing logging on most weekdays on our property and adjacent neighbor's property. I will keep the Sanctuary closed during some of this time as the logger brings his dog to work. The cost to recover/rebuild Jasper Memorial Sanctuary was extensive. Material costs were over $5000. Labor costs, had I hired all the hours worked, are over $15,000. The price increase for utilizing the Sanctuary is small in comparison to the expenses incurred from the loss. Thank you to all my amazing guests who have given your dog(s) opportunity to find their calm within by visiting Jasper Memorial Sanctuary. It is amazing to see your dogs and you finding your inner peace. Thank you too for following all of the rules to keep this SS sustainable into the future. The fee set is the amount needed to allow me to keep this site open and provide improvements when needed. (I understand other sites charge less, but I've learned charging less is not financially sustainable. Hosts do not earn what they charge). I love hosting new and returning guests. RECENT IMPROVEMENTS/RESTORATION: Approximately 80 damaged/downed trees removed. 40 uprooted stumps ground out 340' of new 5' fencing installed 140' fencing repaired New entrance gate/location created 100s perhaps 1000s of poison oak dug out (it's still present, just fewer) Culvert installed at entrance with gravel path to gate New signs installed A 6'x6' sand box has been added. Please encourage digging in this location. Discourage digging in all other locations for the safety of everyone. A poop bag dispenser has been installed on a post near the gate and will be kept filled. MEMBERSHIP AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST to repeat/returning guests after we have met. Please message me if interested. Jasper Memorial Sanctuary, named in memory of my soul dog Jasper, is no larger than 1.3 acres in and fully fenced. The acreage is a combination of mid-age dense timber, new reforestation, devastation zone and open grass. The area is flanked on two sides by driveway. My parents and I have been caring for our 18-acre farm for 45 years. In those years we have provided safety and sanctuary for a variety animal species, both domestic and wild. Most of the domestic animals who live on the farm are rescued. Many of them are/have been special needs animals who receive specialized and alternative care, i.e. Reiki, acupuncture, naturopathy, and in their time receive hospice care and end-of-life choice.I work as a nursery specialist, a garden consultant and a natural hoof care practitioner. My parents are retired and work on caring for the land and animals.
