Description

Located in the midst of the beautiful Flint Hills, Fire Lake Homestead is simply a perfect spot to let your dog be a dog. With timber trails leading to mowed prairie trails and open tall grass sections, your dog will have endless bounding and running in a natural habitat. If that weren’t enough, the hills and open field areas all lead to a 2-acre clear water lake! With shallow banks and gentle transitions, your dog can easily enter and exit the water and safely swim to refresh and cool down after they run - or whenever. The best feature of this property is that it seems new at each visit. With so much terrain and features to enjoy, not to mention horses, cattle, and buffalo surrounding the property, you and your dog will be better from each visit. We hope to see you both thriving here soon! P.s. after rainfalls, we have a lake spillway that leads to a waterfalls and small running creek that our dogs also love frolicking in.

HOST NOTE

Barbed wire can and will harm most dogs if they attempt to cross it. Much of the fence is older and has various mended / repaired sections where barbed wire and baling wire could harm an animal that comes into contact with the fence. Dog birthdays, Dog club get-together, or family outing with several dogs? We offer a group rate for these special occasions! Have a party with a total 5 people and 10 pets for 1 hour of access! Mix and match types of attendees to a maximum of 10. Group rate = $3.33/hr for each attendee.

Extra friends and Family5 credits

We allow up to 4 dogs and 2 people for each booking. Parties larger than 6 (including dogs) can use the group rate booking or pay $3 more for each dog or person per hour.

Socialization Practice5 credits

We will work with you to get your let accustomed to other people and other dogs by gentle introduction after they have time to run some of their energy off on the property first. “Leashes and collars on” is mandatory for this activity.

Additional rules

-We only allow 1 vehicle and 1 car-load of guests, including dogs, per visit. If your party is larger, contact me directly first. -Be extremely careful gate keeping when entering and exiting the property. Be sure not pull off the Highway before getting out of vehicle to open the gate. -Children must be accompanied at all times and are the responsibility of the booking guest while on our property. -Parking allowed on gravel driveway only. Please use the parking spot closest to the old fireplace. -Leave no trash and pick up your dog’s poo from all mowed areas. -No fires and no smoking on the property. -No fishing, wading, or swimming (dogs can, of course). Exceptions may be made if discussed with James prior. -No dogs or people on the front or back porch areas. -If you can see into house windows you are too close to the house. -Dogs that bark continuously or behave aggressively or destroy property will be asked to leave immediately. -Being on our property will subject you to camera surveillance via a number of camera locations so being here implies consent to be surveilled. -We ask guests to request help, assistance, accommodation, and for amenities during the visit so we can make the stay joyful when you are here. -If you have an emergency, knock on the front door. -Group rates may be available upon request.
