Description

This was my dog Giacomo's yard, which he absolutely loved. So many knooks and crannies, dig spots and lush grass to roll around on. He passed on 3/21/24, but his last day I had with him in his yard, I told him others were going to enjoy it and his memory would stay alive as new friends will smell his presence. I will not get another dog, he was my best, but I take comfort in knowing others can enjoy a safe place to run and play in Giacomo's memory. I hope your pup will enjoy 😊

Please pick up after your pet. There is a designated dig area behind the white picket fence. I will supply a shovel and garbage can for feces and to fill in holes that are dug. Thank you.

Wild and Free at Oak Ridge Farm

We have 80 acres in the mid-Michigan area. Our front 40 is partially fenced grass pasture for livestock. The back 40 is wooded and hosts almost 1 mile in walking paths with direct walking access to hundreds of acres of state land. Owners and pets will enjoy a beach, 1 acre pond for swimming and lots of wide open spaces for running. This property is not fenced and good recall is a must. We have chickens that free range around our yard at times and are not within sight of the designated area. Due to wildlife sightings around our Sniffspot we would not recommend our spot if your pets are strongly prey driven. Upon arrival to the property there will be signs posted to guide you to the camp area. Please follow these signs to get to the area for parking and playing.

With just over 5,500 sq feet of fenced in area your dog will have plenty of room to run! We have many dog toys, a kiddie pool, agility equipment, sand area (for those who like to dig) and more! We are constantly adding new things and updating the area. We have chairs for you to sit back in and watch your dog! Please do not leave your dog unattended, let your dog jump on the fence or dig along the fence (digging is only permitted in the sand) and please clean up after your pet. We hope you enjoy our little pet area 😊 The kiddie pool is out weather permitting. We try to empty it daily but often we don't get to if we have dog's boarding and multiple bookings because it leaves a muddy mess...we have found the dogs don't care if the water is fresh or not and parents would rather have dirty water versus a muddy yard ;) We do keep fresh drinking water out around the yard. We often have a seasonal photo shoot area set up. When we do, please do not let your dog(s) mess with the display. We want all guest to be able to enjoy this spot. You may take all the photos you want we just ask you to watch your dog so they are not destroying it and to share the photos with our page :) We do run a small boarding and training business on our property. If we have dogs at the time of your visit you will not see them. If they hear you and your dog they may bark so you may hear them but they will never be out of the building while you are here (unless they are being picked up/dropped off but they will be going in/out on the other side of the building). We never have more than 5 dogs at a time but they are located in the building attached to the fenced in area. If this is a concern you may reach out to me via messenger to see if we have any clients during the time you want to book. We have many days/times when we do not have anyone here. If you pup has a birthday/gotcha day we would be happy to set up a few decorations and leave a special treat for them. Just let us know ahead of time (at least 48 hours if possible) so we can have time to get everything ready for their special day!

Elevated observation decks (use at your own risk) were built for dog owners to observe their dog working a running rabbit.
