55Dogs had a blast!
55This is the perfect place! We had a great time exploring and Xander was pretty tired out. Definitely the place to feel relaxed and not worry about triggers that cause anxiety… although, he really was pretty interested in the decoy coyotes that were on their side 😂😂. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back!🐾🦖❤️🐾❤️🦖
55We will definitely be back! Beautiful place, he loved the pond! Even left toys out for him!
55Beautiful place, well maintained! Our dogs really enjoyed the pond!
55Dana’s property is perfect for any dog! There’s long grass and woods for the squirrel chasers, fish and frogs for the water observers, CLEAN pond for the swimmers (mud/sandy bottom but it’s not sticky or mucky, my dogs came perfectly clean which was such a bonus), and plenty of land for the ball fetchers. It was such a nice place to relax. There’s plenty of shade too right near the pond with chairs. There’s also a floating dock which could be a lot of fun if you and your dog like to jump into the water. We went at 10a and it was not buggy at all. We will definitely be going again! Thank you Dana for offering your property to those who don’t always trust dog parks and for those who have energetic dogs who need to run off leash to actually get some energy out. We appreciate it!
55We had an amazing time on Saturday! We spent most of our 2 hours at the pond because Beau loved to swim and is learning to gain more confidence in the water. We’re excited for our next visit to explore more of the acreage as Lulu is a big sniffer and no doubt will love all the land to explore!
55My dogs have the best time here! We’ve came twice and they’ll sleep for hours afterwards haha! Such great views and swimming area for your dogs!
55We had the best day visiting this beautiful property! Our dogs loved the large pond and the large grassy area for them to run and explore freely. Dana (the property owner) is extremely kind and welcoming, and made us feel right at home. We can’t wait to visit again!
55We did some worthwhile training and Melt had fun sniffing and retrieving - the training consisted of some Nose Work around the Adirondack chairs and under the rocks at that end of the pond and some field training running down the hill and into the pond. The geese put up with us. I got to meet the very nice neighbors when Melt was in the van and I was setting up. A totally great place!
55Dana was very communicative and the space was amazing. There were lots of deer and woodchucks and my dog loved frolicking in the pond!

Location

Vestal, New York

Description

We have 20 acres of woods, streams, fields and a pond for your dog(s) to run and play on! It’s the perfect place to let your dog unwind, chase balls, play frisbee or swim! The property is unfenced, however resident dogs are contained with an Invisible Fence and won’t interact or interrupt your time on the property.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

The pond is .75 acres and is 13 feet deep. If your dog is a non-swimmer, please have them wear a doggie life jacket. There is an abundance of wildlife on the property. While my dogs have never been sprayed by a skunk, or come across any potentially dangerous wildlife, the possibility always exists. Mostly, you may see deer, turkey or ducks and geese, and spectacular sunsets! As anytime you are out in nature, please make sure you and your dogs are protected from ticks. They are most prevalent in the Spring and Fall. Hot weather and frozen ground keeps them at bay. Dusk and pond water bring mosquitoes, you may want to bring repellant if you are booking evening playtime. While I haven’t experienced running into a hive, there is always the possibility of bees being on the property.

60 acres of upstate New York forest just for you!

Greetings! Our land is a mix of flat grass (think lawn), some long/short pasture, and the majority being heavy wooded forest area. You will enjoy some rustic logging trails up there (but please don’t expect a perfect state park-type path). The terrain can be steep to climb to the top depending on your skill level. Once you are at the “top” of the hill, there is “flat” land that you can hike (I’ve even jogged up there -slowly!). For those of you that like a challenge, besides our two pathways up the hill, we offer a very steep side of the hill to climb. One of the photos shows water – that is the case if there is a heavy rain (likely September/October) but please know we don’t always have a running stream. We do offer a hose and bucket to rinse your dog’s feet at the end of the stay. The photos with the leaves are from last year – this is what the property will [hopefully] look like in September/October. November starts getting cold. December will bring snow with some plowed areas. For accessibility: if you use a wheelchair, you can drive your car onto the land and use the flat part of the land if you can access grassy lawn. If there is interest, I can offer to take your dog up the hill to run around for a nominal fee. We are new to this so please ask questions. Consider this spot “forever wild” woods. It is incredibly calm and peaceful up on the hill. You can quietly listen to the woods or bring a radio and sing to your dog loudly. If you are not a climber, even playing fetch behind the barn is nice. Note: inside the barn is off limits. This is a working property and there are tools, tractors, and such that are not good for any animals. Please Remember: there are no fences and we have a state highway in front of our property. All the area that you would use would be set back an appropriate distance, but I want to be clear for everyone sake that there are no fences. If your dog does not come back when called, perhaps this spot isn’t the best for any off-leash activity. Wild Animals: There are deer in the woods (and some dogs love to chase deer!) so please keep that in mind as well. We have also seen rabbits and an occasional skunk, raccoon, fox, groundhogs, and once even a porcupine. We hear coyote sometimes but I have not seen any on our land. Upstate New York has been known to house bobcats, mountain lions, and bears among others, but I have yet to see them on our land as well. We do see bald eagles on occasion.
