55A beautiful property!! My 12 yr old bichon ran all over off leash and even went into the water a few times! I left my cavachon on leash just because I wasn’t sure what he would do in terms of going near the road, but it was still great exercise for him! My sister and I wandered around the pond and sat in the Adirondack chairs for a while! Would definitely utilize this app again and return to the property! Thank you to Dana!
55My Goldendoodle had a blast swimming, sniffing, and doing zoomies!
55The property is beautiful!
55We really enjoyed our time on the property. It was clean and wide open. Our pup loved it more than we did! We sat in the Adirondack chairs and looked out over the pond while our pup explored. We will definitely be back.
55Dogs had a great time running and jumping in the pond. Our dogs are very reliable off leash so no issues at all but the road is fairly close, just FYI if people have dogs that wander or aren’t as trustworthy.
55AMAZING place lots of land to run for the dogs and the pond is beautiful and clean!!
55Absolutely stunning property!! The pond was so easy for the dogs to climb in and out of, they had an amazing time playing with the water toys the host left out for us. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and we definitely can’t wait to come again and bring some friends!!
55absolutely loved the pond and all the land for the dogs as well as the dogs loved it too. they had a blast playing in the pond and running around a very awesome that she has toys provided as well forgot ours😂 but definitely will be coming back
55Dana, the host was very kind and responded quickly to my contacting her regarding a visit for my reactive dog. She assured me there would be no dogs or people around. We went today and there was no one around for my dog to react to. It was so nice to just walk around with him and not have to be on "high" alert the whole time. The setting is just beautiful, relaxing and serene. A family of geese were at the pond, we watched them from a distance which was an added bonus. We only stayed about 35 minutes as the weather got warm very quickly. We will definitely be back!
55Dogs had a blast!

Location

Vestal, New York

Description

We have 20 acres of woods, streams, fields and a pond for your dog(s) to run and play on! It’s the perfect place to let your dog unwind, chase balls, play frisbee or swim! The property is unfenced, however resident dogs are contained with an Invisible Fence and won’t interact or interrupt your time on the property.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

The pond is .75 acres and is 13 feet deep. If your dog is a non-swimmer, please have them wear a doggie life jacket. There is an abundance of wildlife on the property. While my dogs have never been sprayed by a skunk, or come across any potentially dangerous wildlife, the possibility always exists. Mostly, you may see deer, turkey or ducks and geese, and spectacular sunsets! As anytime you are out in nature, please make sure you and your dogs are protected from ticks. They are most prevalent in the Spring and Fall. Hot weather and frozen ground keeps them at bay. Dusk and pond water bring mosquitoes, you may want to bring repellant if you are booking evening playtime. While I haven’t experienced running into a hive, there is always the possibility of bees being on the property.

60 acres of upstate New York forest just for you!

Greetings! Our land is a mix of flat grass (think lawn), some long/short pasture, and the majority being heavy wooded forest area. You will enjoy some rustic logging trails up there (but please don’t expect a perfect state park-type path). The terrain can be steep to climb to the top depending on your skill level. Once you are at the “top” of the hill, there is “flat” land that you can hike (I’ve even jogged up there -slowly!). For those of you that like a challenge, besides our two pathways up the hill, we offer a very steep side of the hill to climb. One of the photos shows water – that is the case if there is a heavy rain (likely September/October) but please know we don’t always have a running stream. We do offer a hose and bucket to rinse your dog’s feet at the end of the stay. The photos with the leaves are from last year – this is what the property will [hopefully] look like in September/October. November starts getting cold. December will bring snow with some plowed areas. For accessibility: if you use a wheelchair, you can drive your car onto the land and use the flat part of the land if you can access grassy lawn. If there is interest, I can offer to take your dog up the hill to run around for a nominal fee. We are new to this so please ask questions. Consider this spot “forever wild” woods. It is incredibly calm and peaceful up on the hill. You can quietly listen to the woods or bring a radio and sing to your dog loudly. If you are not a climber, even playing fetch behind the barn is nice. Note: inside the barn is off limits. This is a working property and there are tools, tractors, and such that are not good for any animals. Please Remember: there are no fences and we have a state highway in front of our property. All the area that you would use would be set back an appropriate distance, but I want to be clear for everyone sake that there are no fences. If your dog does not come back when called, perhaps this spot isn’t the best for any off-leash activity. Wild Animals: There are deer in the woods (and some dogs love to chase deer!) so please keep that in mind as well. We have also seen rabbits and an occasional skunk, raccoon, fox, groundhogs, and once even a porcupine. We hear coyote sometimes but I have not seen any on our land. Upstate New York has been known to house bobcats, mountain lions, and bears among others, but I have yet to see them on our land as well. We do see bald eagles on occasion.
