We had such a fun time. The pasture was beautiful and the pond was a huge bonus for our pups. Lots of exploring. Would be a great spot to take a picnic out and just let the dogs roam. A little harder to find, it is towards the left not right. Aside from that great
Very large field with forestry areas. Lots of good spots to sniff and room to run. Hosts were friendly and helpful.
Beautiful spot with tons of potential! Huge fields and varied terrain to explore. It was challenging to find since the directions are a big confusing (go LEFT at the fork in the driveway, not right like it says!). More importantly, be aware that the location is NOT fully fenced. The upper field has a 30-foot gap near the main entrance, and the lower field is open to the main house and gardens (and the gate between the two fields was lying on the ground, so no separation between them). The lower gate out to the driveway was open, and doesn't fully close (even a medium sized dog could probably slip out). Still, the only distractions are livestock and deer, so there were still places where we felt comfortable going off leash. If signs are added, the fencing secured, and maybe a water station included for dog water, this could be one of the top spots within an hour of Portland!
we need to come back to explore more. we absolutely loved this spot. there was a 2nd field we never made it to. the boys were really content. they investigated the woods and pasture , chased some grouse? this is a newer spot I think. when we got there we were not sure where to go so Kay? came out and told us about the fields. they have a hose but I brought my own water and bowl. there are some foxtails, thistles and such it's a field. completely okay for my boys, but for those that have longer coated dogs, could be more of an issue. great for big dogs. and the biggest problem is,if your dog potties it is hard to find if you are a distance away from them.i had to search and search before I found it in the tall grass. wasn't sure where to put it, so we brought that home. there was more space than we had time to explore in an hour, however after an hour my big guy is ready to go home. the last picture I posted was how I found my guy after I returned from picking up after him. laying by his bowl worn out. There are some chickens in a seperate fenced are amd geese off the upper field. Because it's a field there are some yellow jackets, especially under any fruit trees. They were not aggressive today. For my dogs this is a 10 out of 10. Bring your own chairs if you want to sit. I explored with my pups. Wear good shoes. I was grateful Kay was there so I knew where we were allowed. Otherwise I was not sure.
