    Central Durham Hidden Gem

Our Central Durham Hidden Gem is just 5 minutes from downtown, but feels like a world away! Nearly half an acre and fully fenced, we offer a natural park-like space for dogs to run and play or just sniff and explore. Owners of sensitive or reactive dogs will appreciate the buffer zones. (No shared fence lines.) High-energy dogs love to run laps around our trail loop, which is big enough for the most intense game of chase or wide-open "zoomies!" The gentle slope of the land and thick natural mulch provide excellent drainage of rainwater so mud is minimal even just after a rain. Make yourselves at home on the screened porch, which is exclusively for you and your dogs' use during your visit. The porch provides shelter from rain or sun, as well as a place to read or work (or just relax in a rocking chair) while keeping an eye on your dogs. The entire space is pleasant, private, and clean, but not at all "fussy." It's okay if your dogs dig some holes and no plants are off-limits. The wooded area has lots of ground-cover plants and no poison ivy. (The Virginia Creeper looks similar but has five leaves rather than three.) Fortunately, we have never seen ticks here. Our location is easy to find, is in a safe neighborhood, and has plenty of off-street parking. Accessibility for use of crutches, walker, or wheelchair is feasible with minimal coordination. Please request a "meet-n-greet" if you'd like to introduce yourself and/or your dogs. Upon request, we're happy to be part of your dog's socializing training by being calmly seated in the driveway upon your arrival.
