55Wonderful place to let my pupper run! He loves the creek and steep embankment so he can practice his climbing skills. Great shade and he loves the little swimming pool! He spent abt 25% of his time in the baby pool cooling himself off. Thank you!! šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ˜‰
55This is our second visit. Ruger knew what to expect but still isn't sure how to handle the super water bowl :) we love hiding around the property and calling him to get him all the exercise!
55We love this spot! We just have on dog and he doesn't even know what to do with all the space to run, play and relax!! He is a bit confused with large water bowl (kiddie pool), but drinking while rinsing low beans off seems a good combo. We will be back!
55Our first time using sniffspot and it was terrific. The space was lovely. The hosts left fresh water, poop bags, wading pool. A very nice, well-maintained space. We'll be back.
55Outstanding run and play for my 2 ridgebacks.
55The space is amazing for multiple dogs or if your dog likes some room to sniff around or play fetch. It's a more expensive spot, but it's definitely the best one we've been to. The owners have done a great job fencing off the creek area. The grass is well kept. The creek water-level was very low when we came. Be aware, on a muggy day, it will be buggy. With no breeze, we had bugs in our eyes almost the entire time. It didn't take away from the overall fun, but if I come again with similar weather, I may consider bringing a small battery-operated personal fan to keep them out of my face.
55Really massive spot! Was worth the effort to travel here. The very back is legit, legit woods. Like I went back there and had a little trouble finding my way back across the creek to the open area. My dog had no trouble navigating though. The neighborā€™s dogs were out and barking. Didnā€™t bother my dog too much, but might be an issue for others. My dog had a lot of fun exploring! We will be back.
55Fantastic spot! Lots of room to run, the stream was great, and the fence seemed nice and secure. Hosts were great too!
55For the dogs: my pup loved it. She didnā€™t want to get in the car. Thus the 5star rating. Compared to others it wasnā€™t my favorite but thereā€™s tons of variety for the dogs to sniff out ā€” the creek, wood piles, and fences. For the humans: the descent to the creek is very steep. Thereā€™s not really a good place to sit down there. It really feels like youā€™re in someoneā€™s backyard. Wear bug spray. Pack your own poop bags and water. Room for improvement: the other sniff spots weā€™ve been to offer toys as well as poop bags, treats, and things that make it feel less like were in someoneā€™s backyard and more like we were using a business.

Location

Germantown, Maryland

Description

Dogs can run around 2.25 acres of fully fenced yard and green space, with a shallow creek in the back if they want to splash or cool down and explore some forest area. It's a low traffic neighborhood so good for reactive dogs (We've got one! He'll be away).

Cleanliness

98% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

This spot has a wooded area out back so has the usual forest area and creek hazards: some thorny bushes and brush exist, there are bugs may be ticks (recommend your dog be up to date on Frontline or other preventive), fallen branches. The water level in the creek is typically very low (few inches) unless there has been a recent storm. Mobility Note: there is a small trail to the area where we climb down into the creek. It's steep and we usually grab onto nearby branches if needed. ** There are no supports ** and if it's rained or snowed recently it may be slippery. If you're climbing up the far side of the creek we do have a rope securely attached to a tree that you can use as a support. Please navigate this carefully! Dogs seem to have zero issues going into and returning from the creek area, and can enter from multiple areas. Human ability varies. It is completely wooded in the back. We do have several large trees around the perimeter of the property and there are sometimes large fallen branches. Please also note that we have an open carport where we store items, including tools, behind our cars. We make best efforts to ensure materials (tools, soil amendments, other home materials) are stored safely.

We have one dog and three cats, and have loved living in a home with a big yard. Happy to share so other dogs are able to race around and enjoy the space, including a creek.
