Location

Description

Welcome to our backyard! We have a soft spot for reactive dogs and those that don't enjoy the mosh pit of public dog parks or strange people. (Heck, sometimes even taking a walk in the neighborhood is hard!) We also know how valuable new experiences are for dogs and how being off leash to run, sniff, and play is good for dogs' physical and mental well being - and ours, too! Our privacy fencing and large yard allows you and your dog to have safe place away from unfamiliar people / other dogs. It's great for getting your dog some different sniffs and letting them off leash for a game of fetch!

Additional rules

IMPORTANT WINTER NOTES: We do rearrange our schedules and prep for Sniffspotters, making sure we’re at home, moving cars for easy access to the entrance, securing Tank and Penny, picking up poop, etc. We understand weather changes quickly around here, so if you’re not able to make it, please cancel or let us know as soon as possible. We recommend booking 30 min sessions over 60 min sessions for this time of year. We don’t want you to waste money booking a longer session if your pup is too chilly at 30 mins! If you book a shorter session and you happen to be running late, please let us know and I’ll check the schedule to see if you’re able to stay a bit later. Evening play: We do have a spotlight off the patio that provides decent light in the yard at nighttime. Snow / Parking: We’ll do our best to keep our driveway and back patio clear of ice/snow, however depending on what time your appointment is and when the snow is arriving, it may not be fully clear. We’ll be using pet safe salt for all areas as well. The very end of our drive can get icy after cold snaps and snowstorms. We recommend parking in the driveway to avoid needing to navigate that with your dog. Or you can walk across the front yard and cut the corner if the snow isn’t too bad!

Victoria's yard was great for my reactive GSD! He had so much fun running in an open space. Will definitely be visiting again come summer!!

Lots of toys for them to play with and tons of space to run around. It was a little muddy with small puddles of water at the back of the yard but that’s to be expected this time of year (end of Feb)

Absolutely perfect! I have a rescue dog and I saw her really open up at our visit— she even had ZOOMIES which is a very big deal for her to have in a new environment. The backyard has balls to play with and this was the first time I’ve actually ever seen my dog play with a ball! The fence was completely secured and there was a spot in the driveway to park. It’s evident by all the effort the owner does to the yard that she has a love for dogs. Highly recommend :)

This is truly a reactive dog's retreat. My reactive pup felt safe and secure with a large sturdy fence and easy access to the backyard. There were paths shoveled in snow and a variety of toys. Bailey thoroughly enjoyed herself.

Host replied: Thank you for your kind review, we're so happy you guys had a good time! We hope you'll be back again soon!

Meet your host

Hello! Welcome to our SniffSpot! I've been working with dogs for over 8 years through rescue and training. I have a passion for helping families with fearful / anxious dogs and am an accredited dog trainer through the IAABC. I understand how isolating and frustrating it can be to be a guardian of a fearful / reactive dog know the options for private, safe, solo play are few and far between so I hope our yard can allow you and your dog to relax a bit, let your guard down and have some fun!
