Yard was a little smaller and unkept, lots of weeds and tall grass and dirt, made it hard for my little girls to run around in.
My 2 Huskies had a fabulous time! There is however one concern and that’s the low barrier from the raised patio down to the yard, which my dogs were jumping from, and on the side, they could’ve jumped into the neighbors yard. I still think it’s a great spot though, but even better for the less daring, less athletic dogs.
👍🏽 good
Thank you for sharing your backyard with us!
Chose not to let my dogs play because a rain storm came out of no where (didn’t want to deal with dirty, wet dogs in my car) but host was awesome & super communicative. & I hope to come back when the sun is shining 😀
Great place to take your dog! My reactive dog enjoyed it and will definitely visit again.
Nice and clean! The dogs had a great time.
The spot is nice enough, but if I’d known what I know now, I wouldn’t have chosen this spot. First, the whole yard is on a really steep, hillside incline, and the soil/grass is very chunky and unstable. I just got my knee replaced last year and this sort of terrain combined with such a steep incline made it really difficult for me to stay balanced. Also, halfway through, when my fearful-reactive, resource-guarding dog was finally considering relaxing, someone came out of the house on the porch and my dog reacted. He went back inside, but she was on alert for the rest of our stay. Owner definitely has the right to see what’s going on in their own backyard, but at the same time, if my dog didn’t mind other people being around, I wouldn’t pay for her to have a private play space. I felt a bit disrespected, as the listing specifically says that no other people are in sight. Which brings me to my next issue… the listing also says that no dogs are visible from the yard, but two large dogs live next door and came outside during our time there. As soon as they went back inside, 2-3 dogs came out of house and into the yard that backs up against this sniff spot. They stayed outside and were interested in my dog, which really stressed her out. After she realized they couldn’t get to her, she went and laid down, panting in stress, and the dogs in the adjacent yard began barking and howling. Like I said, nice space, but the listing felt deceiving. It says no dogs or people visible from the yard, yet we saw 3 people and 5 dogs within our one hour paid stay. I left feeling frustrated and sad for my dog.
Host replied: Hi Mikayla, Thank you for your review. I am sorry you had a bad experience. However in all fairness i did post to you way before you and your dog came that there were dogs in the surrounding yards. So that part of your review is a little unfair as you were given plenty of notice of dogs in other yards. Dogs in other yards can also mean people in other yards. As for the incline, this is clear in my pictures, I do not know the health condition of people visiting, so if you find an incline challenging perhaps mention that to future hosts. As for me coming out and you feeling disrespected. My upstairs balcony a good 25+ feet above the yard space where the dogs have their play. I appreciate your dog may have seen me and reacted, but for you to feel disrespected as a result is a little unfair, you did say to me your dog can handle people walking past her, so me going out on my own balcony for 10 seconds at a very safe distance to grab something shouldn't really have you feeling disrespected. You also said you didn't know about the chat function and wish you had. However, you posted a note to me initially in the chat about your Australian cattle dog, where i clearly state that the neighbors have dogs. I wish you all the best in the future with finding a place to have your dog roam. Take care.
We enjoyed our visit. Easy access to the backyard and very clean. We will be back.
The dogs had a blast. Big yard great for running around! One of my dogs is a foster and she has been only in an apartment and on leash. Loved seeing her be able to run circles! Highly recommend
