Cleanliness

Hazards

We have a rock path and patio, two story deck with stairs, in ground trampoline, a hot tub and an above ground pool and partial wrap around deck. The deck on the house is two story and will be secured with a baby gate at the very top. We also have potted cacti and other succulents. Children are not allowed in the pool and the pool is gated. We’re doing this for the dogs and so they can have fun. Please be aware that our yard is a constant work in progress. All the work and landscaping you see has been done by ourselves and as time and money allow. Nothing is perfect. And we never have enough time or money, so be patient.

The engaging environment was perfect for my small, older dog who doesn’t just run around in the yard for the sake of it but loves to explore! Thank you!

The best Sniff Spot we’ve been to! We booked this spot last-minute during a cross-country road trip, and Audrey was so communicative, accommodating, and thoughtful, even leaving towels, toys, and treats out for us. Safe and secure fence and not a hazard or danger in sight (trust me, our two large dogs get into everything, and there wasn’t a single thing that concerned me in this yard). This Sniff Spot was an absolute delight for our dogs and for us, our dogs played hard and slept harder afterwards, and we enjoyed the shady and comfortable backyard oasis. Book this Sniff Spot!!!

We had a fabulous time at Audrey's and will be back on a regular basis. We haven't even begun working on recall, and I still would recommend Audrey's place for exercise and stimulation. We did not do the pool so I can't comment on that area, and I agree with the prior review that blocking off the hot tub in the long-run would add security. For us, that was not issue, nor were gaps in boards (50-lb dog). The yard is a beautiful area with lots of landscaping that added to my pup's sniffari experience. There are two patches of more extended grass that was perfect for throwing toys (that Audrey provided) and getting out the zoomies. My pup, who gets walked four times/day, but doesn't get to relax and run off leash was laying happily in the grass after half an hour.

Let me start by saying Audrey was a great host. She responded promptly to all inquires prior to my visit. She was very friendly and enthusiastic! Having said that, the physical property wasn’t exactly like I anticipated. I took my two dogs, nine months old(40 pounds) and 2 years old(50 pounds). They both have good recall and obey basic commands like “leave it”, “drop it”, “here”, “stay” etc. I would NOT take any dog to the backyard that does not obey basic commands for fear of their safety. Just to give a couple of examples, I followed my dogs around and never had them out of my sight… And we still had a couple of close calls with a nose smelling and getting poked by cactuses and also a leg falling between uneven/unflushed boards Around the perimeter of the small pool deck. I did pay the $20 extra for the pool. One of my dogs loves to swim and the other not so much. While she and I were in the pool the other wasn’t too interested in anything and just laid on the nice inground trampoline! I know Audrey is working on a solution, but there is absolutely no way to get your dog out of the pool without hurting them or yourself. Again, they are trying to come Up with a solution. There was a ramp but it was not attached and made things more difficult. My dog is an avid swimmer, but still would like to be able to get out of the water when ready. I suppose one solution for another dog owner would be to use a life jacket. Up around the pool deck if a dog would be so inclined it would have just about a 2 foot jump into the neighbors backyard. I write all this in hopes of helping the next family. If your dog is chill and just wants to smell, isn’t inquisitive, isn’t interested in the pool area And has amazing recall the setting will be perfect! However, I felt there are way too many hazards for me to go and completely let my dog smell and I relax while following them. All of the steps had loose boards and missing boards in which dog legs easily slip through. There is a hot tub with a homemade Cover, I couldn’t remember if the dogs were allowed on that deck, so I got them off immediately but one was confused and took a couple of steps onto the makeshift hot tub cover which was very dangerous. All of the pool components are easily accessible from the grass area, again very dangerous, and if your dog has amazing recall will be no problem. This is not an area for people to take dogs that they just want to let run wild and free. The Public dog park would be more suited for that. The backyard was very well groomed and clean I must say. We will not be returning, however the setting will be a perfect place to stimulate certain dogs.

Super nice setup with an even nicer host!

Audrey's yard was perfect for our 2 medium and large pups. It was spacious for them to run and explore and she even provided potty bags, toys, and treats! The pool is a perfect touch, but if you have a big dog it might be tricky getting them in and out. Definitely worth trying though, we definitely did! We plan on making this sniffspot a weekly family activity for us. Thank you for sharing your yard with us, Audrey!!

Great space for my doggo! My dog had a blast and so did I. Plus, the host left a bowl of green beans for him to munch on (his faves). Definitely will book Audrey’s Sniffspot again!

I live on 4.5 acres and have about 1 acre fully fenced off. You and your pup or pups will be away from other houses and in the country. No city shenanigans. No other animals loose on the property and you have it all to yourself. I have a pup pool and it is K9 friendly, safe, and is 1 foot deep. Just added an automatic tennis ball launcher for the pups. Entrance would be down road on Cedar Niles, then left into my driveway that is north of my external shop, and the drive leads you straight to my fenced off area (see map in the photo section). I have signage to guide you in. Property including entrance to fenced off area monitored and recorded by security cameras (They will alert me when you arrive and leave). As you can see with the pictures, I have a main open play area and then trails going through the thicker/overgrown grass. There is a 55g freshwater barrel and a drink tub for your pup right inside the entry and you can't miss it when you walk in. I have an umbrella set up to get you out of the sun (You can wind it up and down) and chairs to relax on while the pup or pups play. I have a TON of complimentary toys provided and LOTS of tennis balls for you pup or pups if you don’t have any (Please just put them all back). Dog poop baggies provided and at two different areas when you walk in. Trash bucket on-site to throw away dog poop and trash to keep the area clean. I have 150ft of patio lighting and an LED flood light around the main area of the Sniff Spot. The lights are bright and now you can book late evening into sundown, even night visits if you choose. The main area of the Sniff Spot is fully lit with the hung patio lights. Pictures are posted. Please clean up after yourself and leave everything as it was. This is very important for the next guests, my Sniff Spot stays VERY busy, and I at times I don't have time to inspect my SS before the next bookings.
