Description

Lovely country home on 1 acre with 1/2 acre fully fenced. Beautiful flower, veggie and herb garden in the backyard. No smoking or alcohol consumption is allowed here. Working on adding nice amenities. Sometimes the neighbor’s dogs in the adjoining yard bark, but overall it’s a very peaceful and serene lovely green space. We don’t use any chemicals or pesticides on the yard or garden.

Such a beautiful area! Lorna is wonderful and clearly puts thought into what both dogs and humans will need while running around and playing. 10/10 and will be returning regularly!

Host replied: Thank you so much for the lovely review. I’m glad the spot meets your needs. You and your pup are welcome any time! I hope to add more amenities as the weather warms up.

What a great little place to let your dog stretch its legs! The yard is big and open with a couple of trees and the host provided water, toys, treats, and poop bags. Arlo had a blast running around like an idiot. The next door neighbors do have dogs (behind a tall, wooden privacy fence), so if you have a highly dog-reactive pup, be aware of that.

Host replied: Thank you, Maggie. I appreciate your booking and your positive review. I’m glad that you and Arlo had a good time. I listed the next door neighbor’s dogs (for full disclosure) when I signed up in case it would be an issue for anyone or their dog(s). I really wish that he didn’t leave them out there 24/7. I hope that they didn’t detract from your visit. You and Arlo are welcome any time!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Great play area for our high energy dog to run to his hearts content. Host is super hospitable and puts out everything you could need for you and your pooch.

Host replied: Thank you so very much, Grace. It was good to have you back. I’m glad that you enjoyed your time here. You are welcome any time.

Every detail was thought of and need was prepared for. Both for the pet and the owners. And, the location is STUNNING! Great hospitality and communication!

Host replied: Thanks so very much! It was my pleasure to host you. I’m so glad that you enjoyed your visit.

This sniff spot is super nice and the owner is super accommodating. She provides clean up bags, water (for humans and pets) and treat. We will definitely be returning.

Host replied: Thank you. I’m glad that you enjoyed your visit, and I hope that you will return.

A few Announcements: 1) 2/27- It came to my attention recently that in the back corner of the yard there is a small gap between my fence and the neighbor's fence where a dog could potentially get through. This came to my attention after a recent visitor was there with their dogs and my neighbor came out on their deck with their 2 smaller dogs and my visitor's dogs wanted to go after the neighbor's 2 smaller dogs. That was the 1st time I heard of this gap or anything like that happening, but I did see the gap that they were talking about, where it's possible their dogs could have gotten through if they weren't guarding their dogs from getting through. It will be a few days before I'll be able to address this as far as getting it fixed so in the meantime, this is a warning that there is a potential gap in this part of the fencing. (Bottom left corner.) **Book at your own risk.** I will update this once I've been able to secure this hole. Thank you for your patience. 2) There was a recent visitor who did not clean up after their dog. If I knew who it was, it would show up in my review of them. This is a reminder that you are expected to clean up after your dog. Thank you. Recommendations: I recommend that if you book an evening time, that you come prepared with a good flashlight, especially in the fall/winter when it's getting dark earlier, and check the time of sunset. Even with the lights on, it will be dark in most parts of the yard, and I can't guarantee the lights will be on for every evening visit. The space: A wide open space with rolling hills for your dogs to play, while you enjoy the view. *The sprinkler is actually a garden hose that is a "soaker" hose. It sprays water out of it like a sprinkler. There are plenty of sticks you can throw for the dog to fetch. The location is 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 5 minutes to Downtown Asheville, and close to the Folk Art Center. The newly renovated Haw Creek library and playground, Creekside Tavern, and High Five Coffee are just down the street. You can also walk to the Haw Creek Farmer's Market from here on Fridays, 3-6 pm. You can walk straight from to the Mountain to Sea trail from here without having to drive, and hike to Lunchbox rock (seen in pictures here.) I included the porch pictures so you could see the sunset. :) There is hand sanitizer, sunblock and bug spray under the stairs, under the side of the bottom step that you are welcome to use.
