Description

We live on 1 acre which includes our home. We have separated our yard into a small fenced area which surrounds our front door and borders a portion of our driveway. The remainder of the yard is where you’ll be spending your time. We love our yard. It feels like an oasis in the middle of a nice neighbourhood not far from the City Center. The yard is mainly made up of a large grassy field. It’s bordered by large wisteria covered trees and bamboo which provides shade during the heat of summer. We have a small section with fruit bushes such as raspberries and blueberries. Feel free to have a snack while you’re enjoying your visit!

Cleanliness

94% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

There are blackberry bushes around the boundary of the yard. (We had a greenhouse but it has been removed as of Oct 2, 2023.)

A nice big space to get my boys exhausted. Great directions and signage of where to go.

  • IRENE W., Nov 22, 2023

Large fenced yard with lots of places to explore for dogs!

Thank you for having us. My dogs absolutely love it there!

We had great time! It was beautiful in Mission with all the falls leaves and my dog thoroughly enjoyed running around exploring and playing with the toys. Some beautiful big trees which we had fun playing hide n seek around. The yard was secure enough for my dog (Great DanexMastiff) We did hear a neighbour dog bark once and a train in the distance but it didn’t bother us, we felt like we were in our own little sanctuary. The host is very helpful and kind. Another successful Sniffspot adventure. Thanks for having us!

Thank you for opening up your space. It was lovely to have a secure area for our pup to really run.

We’ve been here a few times and really love it. It’s beautifully secluded and my pups sure enjoy themselves here. We finally found the secret path as well!!!

The 2 dogs I was taking care of and I had a wonderful visit. The place is huge and fully fenced. The hosts graciously left a water bowl out as their hose was not working. You can hear dogs inside the house and on other properties barking occasionally, but that wasn’t an issue for my dogs. There were tons of sticks for my dogs to play with, and lots of places to explore. The place was well maintained and it’s my favourite sniff spot so far. I can’t wait to book again!

Lovely property with lots of space for zoomies! Water was provided, remember to bring bug spray!

  • Missy G., Oct 14, 2023

Large and secure property, lots of room to run around. Unfortunately both my dog and I stepped in one of the many piles of dog poop which kind of hampered the experience.

Host replied: So sorry about that, it has been rectified.

WEATHER ALERT: If you are checking the weather online check the Ferndale (98248) weather. The Bellingham weather stops at the Smith Road. My prevailing wind is from the South BUT I do get the cold NE wind from Canada. NOTE: I have a new young dog who is still learning about socialization and is a bit on the vocal side. I apologize if this is a problem for your dogs. I will try to keep her under control. This is an acreage area which formerly held dog events; barn hunt, earth dog, carting, rally, obedience, tracking and nose work. The off leash area was set up for the dogs to have a place to run and play safely away from the other dogs when not working. This is all sandy loam so no standing water even when it rains. There is a water faucet down by the smaller barn (west side). You are welcome to fill your dog's bowls. Just be sure you turn the water off after. I have put some folding chairs just inside the big door of the barn. You are welcome to use them. I have also put a shovel out there so you can fill in any holes your dog digs. It is important you put balls back in the crate, they do not do well under the mower (the mower doesn't like it either. Please fill in any large holes your dog digs, so my mower doesn't bog down in one. The garden is done for this year so if you want a bit more room to run your dogs, you may close the 2 big gates and let your dog run in the "parking area". It is all fully fenced. Be aware, the big gate into the back pasture does have a gap under it. THE BACK PASTURE IS OFF LIMITS THERE IS LIVESTOCK BACK THERE! PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG EVEN IN THE BIG AREA. THANK YOU!!!
