Description

** Please note the pricing is in USD! Welcome to Pleasant Valley Sanctuary—a peaceful, off-leash retreat nestled in the heart of nature. This approximately 2 km round-trip hike winds gently through diverse terrain, offering both an invigorating walk and moments of quiet stillness. Along the trail, you’ll pass through a rich forest filled with birch, oak, maple, and evergreen trees, surrounded by the grounding scent of earth, moss, and pine. Wildlife may be spotted, so we recommend staying alert and respectful of the natural surroundings. This trail is more than just a walk—it’s a chance for you and your dog to breathe deeply, explore freely, and reconnect with the wild spirit of the land. Please note: At the start of the trail, there is a fairly steep incline leading to the top, where the path levels out and offers a peaceful, flat stretch to explore.

Welcome! Hi there, My name is Pamela, and I’ve proudly called this area home for over a decade. I’m the owner of Critter Sitter Kennel, an insured and certified dog care service with over 11 years of hands-on experience. I’m deeply passionate about dogs and their well-being, and I’ve spent years working with pups of all sizes, ages, and personalities. As someone who loves nature, I’ve always found peace in the quiet of the woods — and I know our dogs do too. Over the years, I’ve noticed more and more people searching for safe, private areas to let their dogs run, explore, and just be dogs. That’s what inspired me to open Pleasant Valley Sanctuary — our beautiful mountain trail — to the community. This space is a natural escape for dogs and their people. Whether you’re here for a quick walk or a peaceful hike, I hope you enjoy every minute of your time on the trail. Warmly, Pamela Critter Sitter Kennel | Pleasant Valley Sanctuary

Two spots have been cleared for entrance into the water and bench for you to sit on, check the map for locations. There's also a one acre field at the top of the property for training or playing catch, east of the north limit. Various wildlife has been spotted on the property which provides excellent sniff opportunities for your pet. Located in Northern Ontario, expect mosquitoes in spring, summer, and fall - dress accordingly and wear bug repellent if you so choose. If you have excellent recall your puppies can go off-leash. We ask that you wait until you are on the trails to release them. A recommend route is on the map and starts with heading north on the Orchard Trail, west on the North Limit, south on the Back 40, which then takes you down into the sugar bush. You can either cut cross west on Yoko's trail or continue on Maple's Way where there are several trails that branch off of it. Taking Mia's Loop will takes you east towards the road and loop back to the Sugar Bush Trail where you can cross over and head west to Chloe's loop or down to the river. Signs are posted at the beginning and end of each trail to help you navigate. Enjoy this time how you see fit and take nature in the best way possible. Please park to the righthand side of the barn. A map of the trails has been included in the pictures feel free to download or print. Copies are also available in the mail box by solar panels. Happy to get your feedback on the trails and your experience.
