55Love this spot in the spring!
55Muddy and a bit icy in spots. But overall nothing I didn't expect due to the weather that we've had. We had fun!
55Fabulous Again
55So much snow! It was so pretty this evening 🤩
55Cathy and Tom were wonderful yet again. We were caring for another dog and they were accommodating to his needs. It was a beautiful walk.
55Love this place!
55What an amazing first visit. My dogs were so excited for all the different trails to explore and to be off leash the whole time was a bonus for them. I love the fact that the trails are well groomed. Was easy to walk. All trails are well marked and the map is easy to use. We will definitely be back.
55Awesome host! Beautifully maintained trails! Wonderful experience highly recommend. Will be going back.
55The trails are in perfect condition today. Thank you!
55A lovely time as always

Description

***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD*** Base rate of $10 is for 2 adults and 1 puppy for one hour. Additional adults and puppies are $5 each. Children free. :) Trail Conditions Update (April 16th): It's spring! :) The sugar bush trails in the south end of the property are flooded. The north end trails are very muddy therefore we've decided to temporarily close the trails to give them the opportunity to dry out. Hello and welcome to our piece of paradise! Our property (45 acres) offers numerous walking trails and open spaces to romp and play. Your dog can enjoy an off-leash experience and a great opportunity to explore and be dogs! So many new smells they will be exhausted before you know it. Open field for you to play fetch or train. 100% totally private. No other dogs or humans during your time slot. We have 2.7 km of nature trails that weave their way through our 45 acre property. In summer and fall the trails are cleared of any debris, but are hiking trails and appropriate footwear is recommended. In winter, trails are packed and groomed. Many of our trails are suitable for “Dog Powered Sports”, including canicross, bikejoring, skijoring, dog sledding, and kicksleding. There is a river that runs through the property and during the summer this is a great place for your pet to take a dip and cool off. A section along the River Trail has been cleared for entrance into the water and bench for you to sit on. There's also a one acre field at the top of the property for training or playing catch, east of the north limit. Various wildlife has been spotted on the property which provides excellent sniff opportunities for your pet. Located in Northern Ontario, expect mosquitoes in spring, summer, and fall - dress accordingly and wear bug repellent if you so choose. If you have excellent recall your puppies can go off-leash. We ask that you wait until you are on the trails to release them. A recommend route is on the map and starts with heading north on the Orchard Trail, west on the North Limit, south on the Back 40, which then takes you down into the sugar bush. Continuing on Maple's Way there are several trails that branch off of it. Taking Mia's Loop will takes you east towards the road and loop back to the Sugar Bush Trail where you can cross over and head west to Chloe's loop or down to the river. Signs are posted at the beginning and end of each trail to help you navigate. New trail: We recently opened up a new trail that links the south end of the Back 40 to Chloe's loop. Signs will be posted in the near future. Enjoy this time how you see fit and take nature in the best way possible. Please park to the right hand side of the barn. A map of the trails has been included in the pictures feel free to download or print. Copies are also available in the mail box by solar panels. Happy to get your feedback on the trails and your experience.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

The river that runs through the property has a strong current and in winter there are areas that don't freeze over. Keep your pet off the river. For summer swimming, dogs must be strong swimmers in order to manage the current. There is no fence, therefore as pet owners you need to be able to recall your pet, or use a leash for their safety. The trails are through the bush so the ground is uneven with stumps and tree roots, and there's potential for falling branches. During winter the trails are packed and depending on weather conditions may have ice patches underneath. Wildlife has been spotted on the property including bears, moose, deer, fox, and rabbits. Living in Northern Ontario expect mosquitos - dress accordingly and wear bug repellent if you so choose. This spot has a water feature, make sure to review these guidelines for visiting spots with water before visiting: https://help.sniffspot.com/article/167-how-to-keep-your-dog-safe-around-pools-and-water
