45Great yard for playtime, host was friendly and accommodating. This medium sized yard is fully and securely fenced with double gate entry and has many trees and bushes for shade. Our large dogs loved running and exploring. There were no neighboring dogs out during our visit and we found our reactive dog had a good time relaxing.
55WONDERFUL spot! It was clean, safe and so nice! My pup loved his time there and he could truly relax and play! Will be returning!
55Accommodated a big group with short notice. Really nice and maintained place!
55Great place for my dogs to play and build their relationship. Host was quick to respond and greeted us upon arrival for a quick tour and run down of any possible hazards which were a non issue for us. Had fresh water available, poop bags and trash. Although we didn’t use them this time there are options for add ons like a wading pool, treat scavenging and sprinkler play. Great experience over all we’ll definitely be back again.
55So sweet! It was so nice to have the dogs to be able to relax in the grass and explore! 100% recommend
55Plenty of shade, enough room for zooms, and my dog enjoyed finding treats
55We had so much fun! George is an awesome host and we are so excited to go back!
55Host was very friendly and knowledgeable and met us for a tour before bringing the dogs back and he even gave them some biscuits
55Perfect yard for a dog that likes to run or just walk around and sniff the many plants. Lots of shade. Owner was very helpful and accommodating to wide variety of dogs.
55Very welcoming introduction, and a very well considered space. Will definitely be back!

Sometimes

**If your dog is particularly dog-reactive, there are booking times which will work better for you. Please contact me prior to booking so that we can make a plan to care for your dog's needs.** My neighbors on the east side have two dogs which may be outside during your visit. The screamo husky is Jasper. He's sometimes outside for large parts of the day, so he'll probably want to say hi. He may give small howls of frustration if he can see dogs play and can't join, but after a few minutes he'll ignore you. The other dog is Bridger. If he had a license plate it would read BORN2BORK, but he is friendly. They like to run up and down the fence line, and may pose a challenge for particularly reactive guest dogs. Allowing this to occur can be problematic: dogs have ground their claws down to the quick when running back and forth along the fence. For this reason, it's best for owners of reactive dogs to enter the spot while still on-leash, then watch and listen for signs of dogs across the fence on the east side. If they're out, it may be best to instead work on your dog's reactivity as instructed by your animal behavior consultant. Bring your extra-special treats, or message me and ask for some. There is also a church on the north side. the property is rarely busy (except Sundays), but occasionally people walk dogs through that area. Aside from these, several other neighbors in the area also have dogs. No others are visible from the spot, but some are audible at times.

No domestic animals are audible or visible nearby. Occasionally squirrels or birds hop down from the trees for forage, but these are wildlife, not domestic animals, so they are to be expected!

The neighbors are all aware of my spot, and do their best to respect guest privacy. Some neighbors or church-goers may occasionally be close to fences, but they do not spend much time out and about. Owners of people-reactive dogs would do well to avoid booking on Sundays until the late afternoon.

Description

**Due to the nationwide atypical canine infectious respiratory disease, we have reduced available amenities. Please plan to bring your own water and bowl.** This yard has manicured grass, large fruit trees which offer shade in the warmer months, a variety of plants to provide different scents, and a dirt corner for dogs which love to dig! It's large enough to play fetch, let dogs play together, or just allow them to explore without fear of losing track of them.

Hazards

Fruit: When in season, I sweep for fallen fruit every morning and prior to visits in order to remove them; however, fruit may fall during your visit. Please keep this in mind. This may pose issues for visitors with multiple dogs if one guards resources, or if a dog chews or swallows the seeds or stones. Fruit trees: most fruit trees contain high amounts of cyanogenic compounds in their leaves and branches. For this reason and other safety-related reasons, please do not use branches to play fetch. Rose bushes: these are in several places along the perimeter. This hasn't yet shown to be a problem for any visiting dog or for my own dog. Other plants: almost every plant in the yard can be harmful to dogs if ingested in sufficient amounts. If you have an exploratory chewer, please be aware. For the most part they cause nothing worse than gastrointestinal upset. If your dog may have ingested a plant, please contact me immediately for assistance with plant identification. Mushrooms: there are several edible and inedible varieties which grow in the grass from spring to fall. You can find mica cap and morels (!) as well as yellow foot agaricus. None of them are edible raw, and yellow foot agaricus is not edible cooked either. (If you get to the edible ones before I do and want to keep them, feel free - but if you don't have experience with mushroom foraging, please ask for help with identification and preparation!) Unlevel ground: the grass is a species which grows in tufts, so the ground may be a little uneven in places.

My name is George. I love dogs, and an animal behavior enthusiast. I have a dog who struggles to interact with other dogs and with humans in appropriate ways without guidance. Many owners of dogs like him often find it difficult to find safe places to spend time off-leash. We are fortunate to have such a place, and I would like to share it with others. If you have questions about training or behavioral concerns, please feel free to ask! If I am not sure of the answer, then we can work together to get you the resources you need.
