Its a nice space. Strong fencing, rural atmosphere. I had qualms about leaving my car in the road with no shoulder to open and close the gate. And the parking and turnaround area is tight. The mud created a bit of a chore afterwards, but I knew about it going in. I know it will dry up soon.
Host replied: Thanks for the feedback. I brought in 15 yards of base rock to make the parking area because it was so rainy this winter. I think with your feedback I’m going to spread the gravel to make larger area for pulling in parking and backing out. it’s a good thing. I’m getting a tractor this week! Easy to push that gravel around and easier to keep up with the mowing. I will think on how to manage the gate entry people around here are used to stopping for vehicles in the little roads not a problem for them, but I can understand that it might feel a little tricky.
We visited Charlotte’s sniff spot today. We had 6 dogs total. They had so much fun Charlotte is a great host. We will be back
Sweet spot! Fruit trees and a big mud puddle to roll around in. Make sure to bring a towel - water provided for rinsing. Felt clean and safe.
Charlotte's property is beautiful and has everything you and your dog need. The private, gated entrance and parking space is very convenient. My dogs and I had a great time there!
Currently there is a lot of mud / algae and fox tails covering majority of the land so it was hard to find a spot to throw the ball for my two large dogs. Sadly they ran through that mud / algae and fox tails and black berry bushes. There is several dogs in view and two that share a huge open wire fence. The dogs were barking at us on each side for awhile and was causing my dogs to jump over blackberry bushes. I had to spend about 20 minutes of my rental time cleaning my dogs off.
Host replied: I’m so sorry the spot was difficult for you. I suppose I should block the spot until we are able to get the big mowers in with this very wet winter. We have not been able to get big machines into the field yet and have been weed whipping by hand, I will change the description of my spot to let people know that neighbors have dogs. If you would like to come back sometime after we’ve had a few no rain days I will be glad to comp your stay. Just let me know.
Our dogs had lots of fun! They got a little dirty as it had recently rained but there was a hose to rinse them off. It’s worth noting that neighbors directly across from the property, and to the right have dogs that bark. Luckily dogs to the side were put away but the dog across from the spot, after initially barking, watched us the whole time, no big deal but worth noting if your dog is reactive. Also if your car is low to the ground be careful exiting as there is a dip! Overall lovely spot for our dogs to roam and run around and they were tired out after.
Sierra, our GSP, had a ball! Lots of room to run, puddles, mud, grass. Our girl was living her best life. Thankfully Charlotte has a hose available for rinsing off before getting back in the car! Access was easy and there were some toys, poop bags, and trash cans available as well as a couple of chairs. We'll be back!
We had a lovely time! Spot is muddy in spots but not as bad as some other spots. There is good shade available and the spot is easy to access. Charlotte brought us some apples, which was a fun treat. Neighbors have 2 dogs across the road that came down and watched/barked for a few minutes but then were taken away by their people. It was not a significant issue for us but something to keep in mind that is out of the spot owner's control.
I won’t be returning. The host’s big dog came charging down the hill from the house barking. He ran right up to the fence and ran along it barking and snarling at my dog. No one came to get the dog or call him back up to the house. I still had 10 minutes of my time left but had to leave because my dog was reacting to the fence running dog.
Charlotte’s place is so lovely! An orchard on a gentle slope with safe fencing, fresh water and plenty of space for the pups to run and explore. Charlotte was so sweet and brought out a bag of apples as well.
