This would have been our first visit. We arrived at the locked gate, and no one to let us in. After over 20 minutes we decided to leave. Had to back out of narrow dirt road with steep drop off and over the railroad tracks with an Amtrak coming just a minute after we got across. Very dangerous. I was fortunate that my husband was with me to stand outside the car and guide me as I backed out. Very disappointed. We looked forward to going all day only to arrive and have a bad experience.
Thank you for opening this spot up. We loved the trail into the woods. And so much off trail exploring. My four dogs and kiddos really enjoyed it. We even found the river and the dogs went for a little swim. There are railroad tracks but pretty easy to keep the dogs on the wide trail and off to the other side where all the woods are (you may want a long line for some sections). Very brushy and wooded, perfect for the dogs to explore. And a nice large open area at the beginning. The host was amazing and nice, and thoughtful. She met us at the start and showed where to park and walk. Animals were put away.

We are a federally recognized 501c3 local animal rescue with over 5 acres of natural woods and farm fields to roam and explore. There is a creek available in the summer months for dogs that enjoy water sports and a trail that leads to a beaver dam. Rural and rustic, this place is well suited for dogs with good recall. We are a working rescue and still organizing our sniff spot, so we appreciate your patience during our construction stages.
