Description

UNDER CONSTRUCTION OPENING JULY 28th Lone Pine Pastures leases this small farm just outside of Wooster Corporation limits, from KDK Farms where we have Katahdin sheep and Shorthorn Beef cattle. The dog park is located in what we call our Clear Creek Pasture the owners of the farm we lease from use to run Buffalo and sheep here so it is fully fenced by woven wire (but some dogs may be able to run through/under this fence). The spot has beautiful scenery and a nice creek to explore. In the spring the daffodils on the hill bloom and spell out Varns which is the name of the family that have owned the property for decades. The wooded area is plentiful with woodland animals such as squirrels, chipmunks and deer. Birds are in abundance here also. There are 2 neighbors within view of the park and one has a small dog. We are working hard to get this spot comfortable for both the dogs and owners.

HOST NOTE

If the creek is high it can move fast, and it’s open at both ends (no gates/fence) to stop a small animal from exiting through the creek. We suggest a life jacket for dogs that cannot swim well, when the creek is high or flowing swiftly.

There is a small cattle farm to one side, and is otherwise landlocked, aside from the 400 foot entrance. The trails are not professional, and the location offers a wilderness of fun. Stay on the trail, or don't. Let your dog go where it's nose leads! There is partial fencing on two sides. If you come on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday, finish your experience by visiting Silver Run Winery, which boarders the property. Email with any questions!
