Description

This is a private, fully fenced in backyard in the heart of Burlington’s South End. Walkable to downtown and the South end arts district, this little piece of Sanctuary is a fantastic private spot to let your pup sniff and run while you kick back on an Adirondack chair or lounger and enjoy the sunshine (or a rest in the shade!), check out the flower gardens, or have a nap in the hammock. There is a hose in the back, hooked up and running, and digging is permitted next to the hammock as well as in various spots around the yard. Basically, If theres no grass, then digging is fine, though I do request that you try to replace any dirt that gets moved around if it's not in a pre-established space. Poop bags are in a dispenser attached to the fence post on your left when you walk through the gate, as well as on two additional fence posts towards the back of the yard. Please be sure to pick up after your pet! I do my best to sweep the yard a few times a day, but sh*t happens! So, if you come across a stray nugget, please consider picking it up and paying it forward. : ) In the giant blue "Bark Box" next to the entry gate you will find all kinds of treasure including the following! - Dog first aid kit with styptic pads - Complimentary treats - Extra poop bags, and extra garbage bags for the poop bin. - Complimentary all natural bug spray for both you and your pet (human spray is sometimes on the glass table under the orange tent). - Complimentary toys (Usually they are in a bin under the orange tent so they aren't confused with the fresh, "take home" supply.) - Dog toys for take home play including brand new tennis balls, rope toys, squeaky toys, frisbees, and stuffies. If you get here and realize you would like to purchase a take home toy please feel free to venmo me @theparr (last four digits of my phone are #0908). Other Bark Park Amenities Include.... - Well lit at night by motion activated solar flood lights! These are mounted throughout the yard and will activate automatically when they sense movement and stay on for 30 seconds at a time, or for the duration of the movement. To save power, they switch off if they do not sense movement. - Designated trash can next to the Big Blue Bark Box by the gate so you dont have to walk to the big bin in the driveway. - A long handled pooper scooper! (If you choose to use the scooper, please still bag your pet's poop before putting it in the bin!) There are chickens in the pen in the back of the yard who are used to dogs, so no worries if your pup can’t keep their eyes off the ladies, or end up rushing or barking at their pen. They are used to dogs and people, and chicken theater is a fantastic way to pass the time! I would love to add pictures of your doggos enjoying the yard, so if you snap a keeper please send it my way, or post it on your review. Feel free to message me with any questions you might have, or any extras you might like added, and I hope you enjoy your time! Thank you!

Extras

Doggo’s Choice!!$5

Let your pup pick one of the toys from the toy bin inside the deck box, and bring it home as a souvenir! There are toys accessible for shared use, but if your furry friend finds something extra special, it can go home with them! If you forget to purchase one of these ahead of time, please feel free to Venmo me @theparr (last four digits #0908). There are tennis balls, frisbee discs, rope toys, tug toys, squeaky animals, and stuffies.

Fire it up!$15

This extra will have you sitting by a premade fire, kicking back and relaxing while your dog sniffs all of the things. I will get it going for you before you arrive and you can enjoy it at your leisure!

The Human Chicken Experience$5

Want to go in the coop and pet the chickens? Totally doable! The red one is Clementine and she likes to be picked up and held, and the floofy white one is Sunshine and she also loves a good cuddle! The rest of them are sweethearts and will come to you if you offer them scratch grains, and will eat right out of your hand. If you choose this extra, I will be sure to set out a bag of scratch before you arrive so you can win over their little hearts and touch their weird dinosaur feet.

Thank you! The dogs and I had fun in your lovely backyard and seeing the chickens is a real treat!

This is a great spot and we will definitely be returning! Plenty of space to roam and my pup loved checking out the chickens. Only note I have is that 3/4 sides of the yard have 6-ft fence. The front side is 4-ft slatted, so if you have a dog (like mine) who gets uneasy around people, just note that the driveway is fully visible from the yard. We couldn’t see anyone walking by but someone did pull into the driveway so I had to direct my pup away from that side.

My pup loved it here! Plenty of space for him to run around and he especially loved watching the chickens (:

This is a lovely yard with adorable chickens. I'm so excited to have heard of this activity. My one dog does not handle other dogs or humans well, so a dog park is out of the picture. This was perfect! We are in an apartment with no fence so to have a safe space for play is great! Milo woke the neighbor dog with his excited bark and they barked a quick hello. Otherwise nice and quiet.

Great spot, my dog really enjoyed his time, and it was nice seeing the chickens in back.

This was, by far, my pup’s favorite Sniffspot in the Burlington area. Huge yard, easy to access, and really quite private. My dog was fascinated by the chickens (who were SO chill even with a strange dog spying on them). Great experience. Highly recommend!

A perfect spot for our dog! Safe, lots of toys, easy to get to, 5 stars all the way around. This is our second time here and we definitely will be back again. Thanks so much!

Private, quiet, and relaxing. This spot is an oasis for pups and owners!
