Description

Come enjoy and explore all that our country property has to offer. Fun adventure, lots of space to run and play, all the things to sniff and learn. We have groomed trails, woods, wide open areas and a big hill.

HOST NOTE

We do have a couple of fruit trees (apple and pear) dispersed on the property that can attract bees during certain seasons. Our property has the occasional visit of deer and turkey. We always have squirrel and rabbit running around. So if you have a dog that likes to chase all animals stay on the property to hide or run up a tree, except the deer. We have some wild berries randomly growing throughout the property, so if you go off trail, you could run into some pokey bushes. We have a firewood pile stacked between a set of trees. My dog jumps up on it and climbs around to try and get the squirrels. We have a large hill midway on our property. It can be slippery during certain seasons. My boyfriend runs a playground installation business, so there could be construction type items or machinery along the back drive in the tree line.

Please do not pick items from our garden or allow dog/s to dig in the garden. Do not enter sheds. If you have a fire, please make sure it is out by putting water on it. Do not play on machines or equipment parked alongside the drive. If you smoke, please put cigarettes in sand canisters located on the cement pad behind the house. Have fun, be safe, and please share any insight for updates, changes, or improvement. Thank you!

Lovely 150 year old decommissioned farm that has been rewilding for 40 years. It has been held as a private wildlife refuge and has been farm and garden chemical free for many years. Trails wind through meadows, woods, and across frozen marsh in the wintertime. Encounter deer, turkey, crane, friendly crows, songbirds, raptors, a wide variety of wildflowers and trees. Also the occasional bunny, fox, coyote, raccoon squirrels and chipmunks pass through. In sheltering spots like my wood chip pile, I have seen snakes and salamanders. In season there are berries and fruit from wild apple and pear trees scattered along the trails. Note that this is a natural area resulting from the rewilding process and not a groomed and open park-like setting. But the trails are wide and mowed regularly for ease of walking. In the woods be prepared to navigate the occasional sticks and branches that may be on the path as typical of a natural woodlot. Wear sturdy walking shoes. This is an exciting place for dogs to sniff around! Looking forward to your visit!
