Located on the grounds of historic Grand Hotel Fish Camp, We have been active since 1958 in the Fairhope, AL area on Fish River. We are located on 34 acres with fields, ponds, creek & river. You can find out more on our website. GrandHotelFishCamp.com

Hazards

We are an outdoor facility with woodlands, wetlands, fields, boathouse, barns and many natural hazards including snakes. We will cover all of this in your orientation. Thousands of dogs have played here with no incidents. Some, realizing the freedom our facility provides do run off a bit into woodlands or wetlands or the end of the fields. We recommend good recall when visiting or on leash only.

Should have vaccination records in possession for entry. Rabies, DHPP L & clean Fecal/ no worms Need to make sure we confirm your appointment. Otherwise you could get lost or not enjoy the parts of the facility that you want.

Community safety rules
Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the spot.
Make sure the area is safe and secure before bringing your dog in.
Arrive and leave on time, this is important for safety.
Pick up after your dogs. Leave the spot as it was when you arrived.
Always review and abide by spot specific rules.
Unless otherwise stated, restrooms are not available on site.
Booking Policies
Booking Policies
Only one booking is allowed at a time at any spot and there is an enforced 30 min buffer between all bookings to ensure dogs in separate bookings do not meet.
This spot is set for Booking, which means you will be instantly confirmed for any booking you request. You will receive the address and access instruction immediately following booking.
Visits can be moved or cancelled up to 2 hours before a visit.
Visits can be extended and dogs can be added throughout the visit.

    The pictures and description of the spot were not accurate. The only water was a small pond that was heavily dyed with a blue color. The pictures displayed of the Sniffspot showed a big body of water with a dock for the dogs to dive off of but that was nowhere to be found. The posting also said it was fully fenced in but it was not. This wasn’t a problem for us but for some dogs that run off, it would be a big problem. It was a decent spot and the dogs had fun but the description and pictures need to be updated as they were very misleading unfortunately.

    Host replied: Katelyn, Apologies that you did not have a good experience. We were unaware of your visit. As i search for an email, I do not find it either. Thus we did not have proper notice. ( No Fault of Yours ) The photos are accurate and the dock and all does exist but at the other end of the 34 acres. Approximately 17 acres is fully fenced where the dock, creek, and other ponds are. There is a gate and a gate code. You apparently landed in our pick up, drop off, parking area and found the puppy pond where we train. That area will be fully fenced soon also and I guess you also saw the 1 acres yards that are fenced. Please feel free to contact us for a free visit in the future and we will be happy to give you a tour. We have a great place for dogs and have been an AKC Fit Camp for years. It is possible we are too professional for sniff spot. We do need confirmations for people to come onto our property and you do need to be given a tour so you do not get lost. I am communicating with them now. Everything is accurate on this sniff spot and on our website at GrandHotelFishCamp.com We also have an APP that you can download & use to communicate with US. Water spigot available. Blue mailbox, driveway to sniff spot location is looooong! go to end of driveway, past house & garage towards a big white building. Field is across from that building. lots of parking available. NOTE: please check all 5 gates before allowing your dog off leash in the field to make sure no-one else left one open.

There is one electrical outlet located outside. We are on an alley that is not traveled by many. There is a parking lot across from our place that you can park in. We don’t have anything fancy, but if you need a place to play outside with your fur baby we’d love to have you!
