Very quiet area with lots of small trails and nature. We even saw some snow my dog experienced for the very first time! She had a blast.
Super fun for the dogs and kids too
I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Chip, but the instructions and signs at the property were very clear. Our dogs had a wonderful time, as did we! Thank you, Chip!
We had fun playing on the trails
Beautiful, quiet and well kept! I've met Chip before and he is a wonderful person and very kind! It was very nice of him to share his property and let us enjoy a nice nature walk! Thankyou very much Chipper!!
Chip was very helpful and response I’ve when I contacted him about any potential dogs on the property since we have a reactive dog. His property has great views along the trails they have made and we got to watch thunderstorms in the distance and saw a rainbow too. The trail was quiet and the only sounds we had were the neighbors dogs when we first drove in but we didn’t have any interaction with them. Parking was plentiful and easy to figure out based on the information Chip provided. We were a little confused on what we should do when we got there and where to go but we quickly saw the cute white handmade signs along the trail. Enjoyed our walk and we would absolutely come back and since he’s located close to us we might use Chip for training for our little reactive guy!
Our pup loved exploring here. Great spot, thank you Chip!
Host replied: Awesome! Happy to know you had a good time. You lucked out on some cool weather in the summer, come back to see some changes!
Love this place! Very relaxing and quiet right down the road from central Julian. Our dogs loved it, it was the perfect amount of walking for our senior girl and plenty of room to play ball with our younger guy! The neighbor’s dog did come say hi so I would recommend making sure your dog is comfortable around other dogs before coming here.
Host replied: So happy to have you visit and discover the farm! Thank you and Im happy you enjoyed it :) Please come back when you have some time and I hope to make some improvements as well soon.

Chip is a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training & Behavior and is a Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP). His experience with animals started at an early age raising basset hound puppies and other dogs and cats that were childhood pets. Additional animal experiences include horseback riding in Texas and assisting in the care of Harris hawks. Chip is currently spending time as a fox handler, trainer and socialization volunteer with the Judith A. Bassett Canid Education and Conservation Center (JABCECC). Chip holds a degree in geography from the University of North Texas and has spent more than twenty years in a career of geospatial sciences and project management. These years of experience give Chip a unique perspective and skillset in communication, education and training that provides him exceptional experience in concepts that translate across professions and disciplines and creates a solid baseline for launching his dog training career. Chip’s inspiration to become a dog trainer evolved primarily from personal experiences with his current dog Piper. Piper became a support during a mental and physical transformation. During this transformation, he identified a desire to find a more positive, loving way to understand Piper’s needs rather than the traditional intimidation or fear based strategies he had previously learned, which is why the positive reinforcement philosophy resonated so clearly with Chip. The concepts taught in KPA will frame the training sessions with Chip. Using these strategies, we will grow to understand our animals and learn to communicate with them while maintaining a positive mindset focused on celebrating successes while ignoring the undesired behaviors leading to the development of a successful trainer and animal partnership. All great concepts that can be carried forward into our human lives. Chip lives with his wife Janeen, dog Piper and cats Manzo and Nita in Julian, CA.
