55A little tricky to get to but a beautiful spot with a very communicative and accommodating host. All of the views felt so magical and the farm animals were adorable and very friendly. We loved our time!
55Dogs had a blast! A great place to let your pups off leash to explore & get a good walk w/scenic views! The dogs also loved the goat/pig/chicken/rooster coop & visiting the horse stables w/mules also! If your dog(s) wouldn’t do well w/that, there’s plenty of space to have them away from animals. No grass to play fetch but the field works & the paths are wide enough where I threw the ball w/ease. Idk if I’d use the field or let dog(s) run off paths in Spring/Summer. But now’s a good time to visit. My Springer I’m surprised wasn’t full of burrs & thorns. Just some on ears from exploring, few on hind, & few on hair by paws. Host was very kind when answering my questions via msg! You can hear dog(s) that are in the house but not an issue for me. There’s plenty of space to take your dog elsewhere. Lastly driving there, once on dirt road, it’s a long pretty narrow 1.5mile but when u pass a sign that says J bar Z Ranch, you’re going the right way. That threw me off a bit. Other than that it was easy to find. Would definitely comeback. If your dog likes goats, can be actually be around them, get the add on! I hope I can next time!
55Such a fun and beautiful place to take our dogs to! So much space to run around. They loved it and the weather was great!
55This property is beautiful and perfect for hunting dogs that love to bounce around in the brush. Our two springer spaniels were in heaven. It felt like there was plenty of room to go a short hike and let the dogs roam free. Will definitely come again! Just note that there is a very steep dirt road to get to the property. Our small car did fine, but maybe a very low clearance vehicle would have a tough time.
55Incredible Beauty! The view is amazing. The trails are easy to walk. My dog loved the wide open space. Thank you! We can't wait to visit again.
55This is such a beautiful spot for both dogs and humans, with plenty of open land for dogs to explore and sniff. The owner was very responsive and quick to reply. We are glad that we decided to check out this location! We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful day out with their dogs. If you love sunsets, we suggest visiting this place during sunset time as it offers the perfect view of the sunset.
55Literally one of the best days of Rosie’s entire life, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful property with us for an afternoon. We would love to visit again! To any future lucky guests—enjoy, just check carefully for foxtails when you leave.
55Such a gorgeous spot! Private dirt roads/trails meant lots of space to walk, and our dog loved being able to fetch a ball in the spacious field. Definitely recommend for dogs with off leash reliability, as the property is not all fenced (though you’d definitely still have fun walking the trails on leash). Ours didn’t pay attention to the horses, donkey, and goats, but if your dog is bothered by them, there’s areas you can go without them too. Gorgeous, serene, and everything we were hoping for!
55It was a little hard to find. There is a long bumpy dirt road to get there. There are horses, goats, and pigs on the property. The view is stunning. There are lots of meadows full of weeds. If you have a long haired dog (I have an Aussie) be careful of foxtails. You can just roam around the property and take in the beautiful scenery.
55This was such a fun time for the both of us. My dog has never been around farm animals, and she spent the entire time hanging out near the horses and goats trying to get a good look at them. The area was super spacious and the views were beautiful, but my dog only had eyes for the farm animals. The host was very nice and made sure her pets were put away while we roamed, which I appreciated because my dog is anxious around other dogs. We will definitely be coming back for another field trip, it was a lovely experience.

Location

Lake Hughes, California

Description

Partially Fenced dog Park In Lake Hughes This is actually a 20 acre property with empty land lots all around. If you want space and privacy for your dog(s) to run free - this is it! This is why I moved here. I have a fenced area by the house, and will be building another secure, fenced area soon. 360 views to the California Poppy Preserve, the Angeles National Forest, and Pacific Crest Trail. Very very beautiful and peaceful up here & we would like to share it with you.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

There is wildlife up here. Bobcats, coyotes and snakes. We do not see any of these often and the keep away from the animals and activity but they are here.

Extras

Walking with goats & pigs$20

The goats & pigs are a riot! They like to go on little jaunts too. If you have livestock friendly dogs, or perhaps your kids! An event you are sure to remember. These guys are hysterical.
