Location

Description

𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 - we will be closed Saturday 3/25/23 to Wednesday, 3/29/23. These dates are tentative and subject to change or be extended. If you are an Oasis Member and would like to be notified of evening availability, let me know. 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 - The property is just over an 𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙚 and a mix of lawn, flower beds, paths, and work/storage areas. Overall, it is fairly flat and dogs love to 𝙧𝙪𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮 for hours at a time not to mention all the great sniffing spots. There are open areas for dogs to stretch their legs and chase each other and flowers, shade and seating for their human companion(s). There is a 𝙢𝙖𝙣-𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢 in the back that depending on rainfall, may be running full or just at a trickle. It is ideal for your pup to explore and cool off in. The yard offers plenty of great 𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙩 opportunities to take tons of pictures throughout the various seasons. The yard is a 𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙒𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙃𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩®, we are trying to help nature where and when we can. The flower beds have been designed for local critters - birds, turtles, pollinators, etc so absolutely no killing of any bees, butterflies, spiders, turtles, snakes, birds or other wildlife you may find. If you can, take a cool pic to share - we'd love to see it. Do a photo safari. 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗠 - This is a man-made stream that that typically runs in the warmer months and is initially filled with either city water or rainfall. That said, Mother Nature adds to it so we do recommend your pup have his/her 𝙇𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙤 vaccine. The stream is usually shutdown in the winter months and some water remains at the end to help support the frogs overwinter. Please do not allow digging or rough play in the stream - we want to keep it in good shape for all our guests to enjoy and avoid costly repairs. If it is important to your visit that the stream is running and at what level (full/trickle) please reach out to the Host to check its status. 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗦 & 𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 - typically set for 1 hour appointments. If you are interested in a longer appointment, please reach out and we'll see if we can accommodate. 𝗗𝗢𝗚 𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗧 - Our site is set for a 3 dog limit. If you would like to bring additional dogs, please email me. The request will be considered on a case by case basis. Note, there are some spots at the bottom of the fence a small dog (cat size) might be able to get under - they are meant for our cats. If you are bringing a small dog, let me know and we can block the openings ahead of time. 𝗘𝗫𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗦 - Extras will change depending on the season and if you don't see something you might like added, let us know. 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 is currently full. A membership could save you $6, $24, or more per month depending on the Membership package created. Memberships can be a bit confusing so please reach out if you have any questions - we'll do our best to answer them and help find the right package for you. Please come and enjoy our private little spot.

We had so much fun at this SniffSpot! Definitely in our Top 3! The host, Monja, is very kind and takes the time to show you around on your first visit. She has thought of everything and is very organized & detail oriented! Our dog had the best time sniffing and playing in her SniffSpot :)

Every visit here is wonderful. Host Monja puts out fresh water and even a box of nice, warm scarves for chilly humans!

My girls always have a blast here 🤍 the enrichment that they get here sniffing and exploring is very unique considering how much landscaping/foliage there is! 11/10

Our dogs loved it! So much room to run and play! Thank you!

Our dog Rosa had an amazing time here! She didn’t know what to do with all the free roam at first, but she soon realized she could just run and sniff and explore to her heart’s content. The host greeted us kindly and showed us around for our first visit. This Sniffspot is spacious and full of opportunities to explore! The host did a great job communicating about and accommodating our reactive and anxious dog’s needs throughout our interaction with her. It was incredible to see Rosa so happy and confident. This Sniffspot has it all - great host, great experience, and a wonderful yard. We will definitely be coming again. It was a great hour of play, decompression, and exploration for Rosa. Thank you!

Spring is peaking up in the yard early this year. My dogs love this morning sniff spot and ran nonstop today. I can’t wait to see the gardens in full bloom this spring.

My dog Luca had so much fun exploring everything and playing! The host was very friendly and provided lots for the pups including towels if your dog gets dirty, treats, toys, etc. I look towed to coming again maybe with a friend for Luca to play with he had a blast just us two so I can only imagine how much fun he’d have with a friend especially in spring and summer 💛

Meet your host

We have lived in the area for 20+ years and in Lorton for over 10. We love critters and have tried to make our yard friendly for wildlife. The yard is a Certified Wildlife Habitat®, so expect there will be birds, squirrels, and pollinators to include bees. We also work with Virginia German Shepherd Rescue (VGSR) as a volunteer and a foster, so if you have any questions about VGSR, just ask. Currently, we have 5 dogs (3 mutts, 1 GSD, and 1 Foster GSD thru VGSR) and 6 cats.
