45Callie was so wonderful, flexible & accommodating! We had to reschedule a few times due to rain and she was so great about it. She had great communication and was all-around so kind. Easy gate access to the yard, street parking, and water/trash/poop bags provided. The fence was a great height, and we felt very secure. One side of the fence towards one neighbor’s yard is a privacy fence; the other side is chain-link without privacy screen (overlooks the street). Lots of space to run around, the girls loved the sniffs and smells, and running around! We were very excited about the agility equipment; my dogs are inexperienced but we were looking forward to doing some practice! Unfortunately we did not realize how close to the main road the yard was and our dogs were very hyperfocused on passing cars, motorcycles, etc - we are country folk so the girls aren’t used to the noise of traffic. Just a heads up for those whose dogs also react to cars :) we used it as an opportunity for focus and redirection training - but would have loved to have spent more time/energy with the agility equipment!

Come and play in Sammy’s Playground. There’s lots to do. With the entire 0.5-acre backyard fully enclosed by a new chain-link fence (Fall 2022), your pups are free to roam, sniff and run to their hearts’ delight. And, wow… it sure is fun to watch them go!! Zoom-Zoom. (Important information on pricing and opening the gate are at close of this section. Pull your vehicle right up to the main gate.) The areas along the edges of the yard are wooded and make for fun pathways for explorations. The central area of the yard has a slight hill and is mostly open. This makes for plenty of romping and heavy-duty running- including long throws of a ball or a frisbee. Check out all of the photos and read the accompanying descriptions to get a better idea of how Sammy’s Playground will appeal to you and your furry friends!! And don’t worry about the yard (too much). There’s divots and mounds all around, no manicured lawns when dogs are at play. Go for it guys… Enjoy!! It’s our hope that our respectful relationships between us and our Guests remain great and we can continue to avoid any reason to raise our hourly rate. SniffSpot suggests we list our SniffSpot at $20/hour. We are uncomfortable with doing this, because it goes against the spirit of our objective for Sammy’s Playground in the first place: providing a safe and secure environment for dogs of all kinds to enjoy off-leash “true-dog” experiences with their loving humans. We do welcome donations of dog food, p-pads and medications for the all-dog rescue organization, PAWS New England. PawsNewEngland.com for information about fostering, donating, adopting or other ways to support this amazing group. They save over 1,000 dogs per year. ——- NOTE: to open the gate, simply reach over the top to find the key. Twist/turn the key until it stops. Then, lift the knob on top of the gate and push the gate open… you’re in! The gate automatically closes behind you. Please confirm that it has engaged into the closed position and then turn the key to lock yourself in. DO NOT REMOVE THE KEY. The photos section includes views of the gate, key and lock. MUST: when you leave, lock the gate. Doubly ensure that you have done so by lifting the knob. NOTE: As an “Extra” listed benefit, you may park your vehicle in an area away from the main gate and take advantage of a leisurely stroll down the very-well-kept sidewalks of Park Street and adjoining neighborhoods. We list this as an Extra simply so that we know why we have a car in the driveway, but no humans and dogs. Selecting this Extra just gives us the heads up. This might be a good way to burn off that last little bit of doggy energy or for some leash training while you’re here. This is time AFTER your booked time of using Sammy’s Playground (not a part of it). We just don’t want you to run off without taking advantage of all the resources available to you for your dog(s).
