They were not prepared for our visit. I booked two hours ahead of our time slot. They had their front gate open and my dogs snuck out. I didn't realize they snuck out at first because I went to scope out the yard and thought they went under the deck or in the shed. By the time I realized, my dogs were long gone into the neighborhood. My pyrenees/husky didn't make it very far, he was scoping out the neighbors yard across the street so I grabbed him pretty quickly (luckily). My other dog, however, I would not have found if it wasn't for the neighbor Pam (who also owns the sniffspot next door). She drove me around the neighborhood in her ATV/4wheeler and also posted on their community FB page. I wound up finding my other dog in a yard across the street a few doors down and had to jump a barbed wire fence. THANK GOD we all walked away with no injuries but I did rip my $200 Vuori jacket on the fence. If it wasn't for the neighbor Pam I don't know what I would've done. You should only have your sniffspot open to book if your yard is *secured and safe* for dogs. They didn't have their shed closed either and had equipment all over the yard. They had trash and beer cans in the grass, stuff all over. This whole situation could've been a lot worse. I'm sad because I loved coming here before. Just go next door.
Nice large backyard. One fence line shared with another sniff spot. There were three dogs over there and my dogs became agitated and ran the fence with them. Some scrap piles in the yard- I didn’t see any metal or glass pieces, but I was wary about letting my dogs too close to them. Nice amount of space that I’m sure is quiet if there aren’t any other dogs out.
Lovely spot! Lots of places for dogs to rest & tons of space to run and play! Thank you!
This wasn't our best Sniffspots experience, but no fault to the host. We booked knowing that next door is also a Sniffspot (we've been several times), so it was a risk that someone else may be next door with their dogs. However, I greatly overestimated other people's ability to keep their dogs away from the fence. At the neighboring Sniffspot, the dogs charged the fence as soon as I got out of the car, and one was staring at us and running up and down the fence line almost the entire time, while the woman was just talking on her phone. I assumed a large proportion of Sniffspot regulars were probably reactive dog guardians with higher standards/expectations for preventing and managing that kind of behavior... but guess not. I realize most of us go to Sniffspots so we don't have to manage or train for a little bit, but oh well. We stayed on a long line on the far side of the yard for most of the visit to avoid them. Just something to keep in mind when booking - maybe double check to see if both spots are available when you're booking to have a better chance of not having someone less responsible next door. I'll also note that we have been to these two Sniffspots multiple times and this is the first time we've had this issue. It is a nice large space, fully fenced, with some shady spots as well.
Host replied: Sorry that happened. It’s been a rough time trying coordinate between the two spots. Hopefully in the future we can rectify this so it doesn’t happen.
Awesome space! All 3 of our pups loved it. Convenient for us, and we will definitely be back!
