55Great spot in Seattle to let the pups run with shade!!
15The first thing we notice when we walk through the gate is trash all over the ground. perhaps racoons got into it over night. There were also a few pieces of trash in the lawn area, such as large pieces of soft plastic. We would expect by 10 am it would have been picked up with the expectations that a dog would be in the yard. The trash can was also overflowing so there was not really enough room to place doggy bags. There were a few children's toys strewn across the grass with small parts that may be hazardous as well as some personal belongings such as sneakers that dogs are known to enjoy getting at, but are not safe to be used as toys and probably belonged to someone. The pictures advertise a deck, however it was not suitable to be used by guests at the time. The table was covered in nail polish bottles, an open container of cleaning product, an open lotion tub, and an open drink can. We Kept thistle on a long line and didnt enter the deck for this reason. It didnt say on the listing that it was off limits, however if a dog were off leash they would have easily been enticed by the smells, run onto the deck, and possibly ingest something poisonous. It was very disappointing to spend the money to visit a yard that was a mess and possibly hazardous. I don't like leaving negative reviews but this could very well be a safety hazard for other visitors who didn't plan ahead and bring an additional leash option to keep their dogs safe and under control.
55It was great! Our dog loved sniffing and running around, got tired fast, and our little humans loved the trampoline. Time flew by. Nice big water bowl for our big dog.
55Dogs loved it!!
35This is a wonderful backyard, but it’s clearly being developed. When it’s complete, it will be a great sniff spot. My dog doesn’t mind a busy road and there’s so much space to run. I just had a few issues (that should be easy to fix or manage myself): - No access instructions *or* signage. I was very uncertain of how to access the property, but luckily the lot matches the photos. - Other reviewers have stated the fencing isn’t secure. But I was surprised to find there’s a whole panel of the fence that isn’t connected to the rest, and it’s on the side of the busy road. The gap wasn’t big enough for my large dog (75lb) to easily slide through, but it made me nervous during our visit that he might run and push it. - Just FYI: no water dish for the dog. Usually I see this in reviews but it wasn’t stated. Bring your own water and bowl.
35The space itself was nice with a flat open yard and trees. We left after only a few minutes because all of the windows of the home were open (without screens), including one into the basement level that was easy for any dog (or human honestly) to jump into. I wasn’t sure if they had dogs that could jump out and didn’t want my dog entering their home. I did message the host right away but unfortunately they did not reply until after the booking was complete.
45Our bully mix loved this spot! Nice grass to run in and the fencing was secure for our pup.
45A great Sniffspot! It is on a busy street which I didn’t know until booking. I have a nervous dog and he got too scared/overwhelmed by the end. Would definitely go back but for a shorter period to keep him happier.
55This is a great sniff spot! Beautiful backyard. Thanks, Jordie!
55Clean and well-maintained yard. Great for giving our pup some running space!

Hello! I’m Jordie and I love gardening in my backyard and want to make it an inner city haven for you and your dog.

Pig Beach (near Port Ludlow)

A .63 acre dog sanctuary for you and your pup. The yard is well maintained with dog friendly grass and has incredible views of the Hood Canal and Puget Sound. If you're interested, there is private beach access for you and your pup to explore miles of beach (public but almost always empty). There are numerous dog toys available and a massive 6+ person, dog friendly couch you can relax on and watch the canal when you need a break! Regarding the beach, there are approximately 50 steps which you will need to climb up and down to access the beach so please wear proper footwear. As this is on the Hood Canal and not a lake or a pond, tides impact the size of the beach. If you are hoping to walk endless miles of beach, the tide will need to be at 2ft or below. Anything under 4ft will give you a massive area (probably 1/2 mile or more) and almost guaranteed private area as only people with stairs can access the beach at this tide level. Though the beach is open at any point, I think the maximum height you would probably want to go is about 6.5ft. This still gives you and your dog a decent sized area to play in (approximately 500ft by 30ft or 1/2 acre). Photos 16 and 17 show the beach at 6.25ft with a very large sandy area for you and your pup to play in. Anything above 6.5 ft is not recommended as the beach just gets thinner and thinner, but you're able to try if you want. (no refunds given if you don't like what you find). You are responsible for checking out the tides before you go. Legally, I can't recommend any specific source for you to use, but you might find good information Googling "tide chart port ludlow". Regarding ADA Accessibility, my property is on a gently sloping hill. To access it, there are 2 very wide concrete steps to get to the grass. This would be doable for someone on crutches and probably ok for a regular wheelchair if you had a second person to help lower you to each step and pull you up. It's definitely not accessible to a motorized wheelchair. Sorry.
