Very welcoming hosts, super polite, easy going and friendly!! My boyfriend and I had a great time with our pup! We had the whole place to ourselves. It was extremely scenic and spacious. I highly recommend this spot!

Host replied: Thank you. Please visit us again.

It is a large property with a large grass field, and hiking trails in the woods. The hosts were very warm and welcoming. After our hike we had a picnic....very pleasant afternoon. Definitely coming again.

Another fun visit here. The fieldnwe were in was large, open and flat, perfect for getting in a good run, fetching and training.

We had the best time at Nancy and Barry’s farm! It was a magical time in the forest with moss, stones, trails and hillsides. It was so convenient on our way to Boston, just minutes off 84. They are prepping it to be a “super sniffspot” so there was a bit of mud to the trails so you may want to wear hiking boots. Plenty of space for us to feel safe with our dogs off leash and the trails are away from other animals, but no fencing that we saw (except the fencing enclosing their domestic animals). I think more fenced areas are coming. Thank you Nancy and Barry, you two are a delight!

Barry met us right on time and we had a great experience. The property was large, private and well-maintained. Barry was very friendly and helpful. As a bonus, it was much cooler in Union than in other places in CT so on a hot day it provided a nice respite. We'll definitely go back. Thank you!

This is a wonderful spot.  There are several large fields and 30 wooded acres with trails.  My two dogs played in one of the fields for 2 hours and we did not see or hear any other dogs.  We did see some cows who mooed at us but they were far enough away that my reactive dog was not triggered by them.  We walked briefly in the woods but the trails are currently unmarked so we decided to wait until they get a chance to map the area. There was mention of bear cubs in the area so I had my dogs wear their bear bells.   We will definitely return-this is a great spot for me to get away with my dogs in a way that is relaxing for me and fun for both dogs.  The owners were very friendly and quick with information during the booking process.

Hound Hill Rustic 1 Acre Fenced Private Dog Park in West Avon

Located at the far end of a culdesac, Hound Hill is a fully fenced one acre wooded doggy paradise. We have cleared brush and are working to remove leaves and sticks for easier walking and playing with your dog. Our fence is mesh critter fence which is wildlife friendly for the deer, bears, bobcats and other animals that travel through our property. If you are looking for a large space for fetch or just to let your dog explore then this is the place! When you arrive please take time to walk the fence line with your dog on leash first to ensure the fence is intact. Due to the nature of critter fencing and the abundance of wild life we have had occasional breaks caused by deer and bear as well as branches that have fallen. If you spot any issue please message the host and they will immediately address the issue. We love this fence because it does not entangle the wild animals and is very easy to repair. This means we have to inspect it often, and we do, but for the safety of all we encourage each doggie chaperone to do their own visual inspection before allowing dogs free rein. We do treat the area with cedar oil for ticks. We do not use any herbicides or pesticides or fertilizer. Please pull all the way into the drive and park in the gravel spot to the left of the garage. Do not block the garage doors. Enter and exit through the gate directly in front of the parking spot. Please do not use the gate on the other side of the lot for any reason. Please do not enter the small fenced area directly off the back of the house, this area is not part of the dog park. Please note that the dog park is on a hill and there are no paved or flat areas within the park. It is recommended that you wear good shoes with traction and are comfortable walking through an unimproved wooded area. There are rocks, sticks, leaves and uneven terrain. If you have physical limitations this park may be very difficult for you to use. Please pick up after your dog. Removal of dog waste is imperative in order for us to continue to offer this spot.
