This was my first time using SniffSpot and Andrea’s place was amazing! There was so much room for my two pups to run around and play, not too mention toys and fresh water available. Incredibly clean and inviting — we can’t wait to return!

Host replied: Thank you for the wonderful review. You were an excellent guest from start to finish. 💕❤️❤️

We had a great time! Andrea was SO accommodating when I had to swap my original day due to a sudden migraine. I so appreciate the flexibility!

Highly recommend. This spot is great! Everything was provided for us toys, poop center, chairs, shade and the doggie pool. Great attention to the little details and my dogs had a blast!

Host replied: Thank you Elaine, I am so happy they had a good time. 💕

I’d give 10 stars if I could! They have everything you and your pup could need! Our dogs loved the pool, toys, treats and there are drinks for the humans. We will definitely be back!!

Lovely place! Lots of space to run around, with treats for both dogs and humans! The pool was set up for us, which Chester thought was a big dog bowl, but that’s okay— he had a great time! Lots of seating and shade. We’ll be back for sure!

Host replied: Thank you Ravae! We are glad he had a good time. Thank you for the nice review. Hope to see you again. 💕

This was our second visit, and it was as great as the first one! Andrea is such an awesome host! We had to reschedule our morning time due to rainy weather. She responded quickly to my text, and was very flexible and helpful! Seriously an amazing place for you and your pup(s) to have a blast!

Host replied: Thank you Sophy! And thank you for the gift. That was really special and thoughtful to us ;) we love having you. 💕

My dog and I absolutely loved this spot! The yard was fantastic, the pool was a great way to keep him cool on a hot day, and it was shady for me with places to sit. There were treats for both dogs and humans and toys that my dog liked more than his own toys. Overall, it was a great visit!

Host replied: Thank you so much Laura! Hope to see you again. 🐶

Meet your host

I love animals, I worked at the Humane Society for 29 years as the vaccine clinic manager and adoption supervisor in South Florida. I am happy doing anything to make a dogs life happy and healthy.

(Please keep our spot safe, open, and welcome in our neighborhood by keeping your dogs leashed up in the driveway area! Every dog. Every time.) Just 5 minutes from downtown, our Central Durham Hidden Gem is surrounded by an unexpectedly natural environment. A well-maintained combination of open play space and lightly wooded area, it is nearly half an acre and fully fenced. The entire romping area can be conveniently monitored from the outdoor seating. Owners of sensitive or reactive dogs will appreciate the buffer zones around our spot. There are no shared fence lines. (Be aware that, from some parts of our backyard, your dog might see and hear neighbors walking their dogs by the front of the house.) High-energy dogs love to run laps around our trail loop, which is big enough for an intense game of chase or wide-open "zoomies." The gentle slope of the land and thick natural mulch provide good drainage so mud is minimal. Relax in the rocking chair on the screened porch or in the hammock among the trees. (Purchase the "Poop Patrol" extra for guilt-free relaxation and to keep our spot safe and clean!) The entire space is neat, clean, and pleasant but not at all "fussy." No plants are off-limits and it's okay if your dogs dig a hole or two. (For safety, please try to fill in holes somewhat before you leave. Tools are provided.) The wooded area has lots of ground-cover plants and no poison ivy. (The Virginia Creeper looks similar but has five leaves rather than three.) Fortunately, we have never seen ticks here. Our spot is easy to find and has plenty of flat off-street parking. Just give us a heads-up if you need accessibility for use of crutches, walker, or wheelchair. Upon request and if we're available, we're happy to participate in your dog's socialization by being calmly seated in the driveway upon your arrival. Generally, visits are limited to 3 dogs, 5 humans, and 3 vehicles. (Please inquire for potential exceptions.) We look forward to hosting you and your pups soon!
