Description

Hound Hill is a fully fenced one acre wooded doggy paradise. We have our own pack of four dogs and created this space for them. They use the large yard daily but will always be secured inside the house for the entirety of your visit. Hound hill is an unimproved wooded area, but we have cleared brush, leaves and sticks for easier walking and playing with your dog. Our fence is mesh critter fence which is wildlife friendly for the deer, bears, bobcats and other animals that travel through our property. If you are looking for a large space for fetch or just to let your dog explore then this is the place! Please note that the dog park is on a hill and there are no paved or flat areas within the park. It is recommended that you wear good shoes with traction and are comfortable walking through an unimproved wooded area. There are rocks, sticks, leaves and uneven terrain. If you have physical limitations this park may be very difficult for you to use. When you arrive please take time to walk the fence line with your dog on leash first to ensure the fence is intact. Due to the nature of critter fencing and the abundance of wildlife, we have had occasional breaks caused by deer and bear as well as branches that have fallen. If you spot any issue please message the host and they will immediately address the issue. We love this fence because it does not entangle the wild animals and is very easy to repair. This means we have to inspect it often, and we do, but for the safety of all we encourage each doggie chaperone to do their own visual inspection before allowing dogs free rein. We do treat the area with cedar oil for ticks. We do not use any herbicides or pesticides or fertilizer. Please pull all the way into the drive and park in the gravel spot to the left of the garage. There is marked parking for one vehicle. If you have additional vehicles please park the second vehicle in the culdesac and walk in. Do not block the garage doors. Enter and exit through the gate directly in front of the parking spot. Please do not use the gate on the other side of the lot for any reason. Please do not use the smaller fenced area directly off the back of the house. Please pick up after your dog. Removal of dog waste is imperative in order for us to continue to offer this spot. Thank you so much for visiting, I love seeing our clients and their dogs enjoy themselves so much while playing freely!

Great place for sniffin! Definitely not the “fetch” type place but more than enough room for sniffin and exploring and zoomies! Gracie had a great time!

This is a great spot especially if you have a reactive dog like I do. It is well secured and secluded, my dogs had a great time exploring, sniffing, and running. The instructions provided were accurate and helpful. There was a spot to place poop bags and a rake provided to pick up poop if needed. Overall we had a pleasant experience and my dogs had a good time and were very tired afterwards!

Host replied: Thank you for visiting, hope to see you again!

Hi! The spot was easily located and the parking spot was right in front of the entrance gate. I am fairly agile and I thought it was difficult to manage walking. There was no place to sit. My dogs did have a good time and were tired after... lots of new stuff to sniff. I didn't see a water bowl and would definitely bring one next time. There was a place to deposit the droppings which was nice. I think for me I was looking more for a rustic trail where my dogs could be off lease.

Host replied: Thanks for visiting Hound Hill. As my ad describes, this is an unimproved wooded lot, although we have removed a large amount of shrubbery and fallen logs and leaves. The white chairs in the spot are for your use, I’m sorry if you didn’t see them, they are right by the trash can. I did not get water out for your visit, sometimes when a reservation is made shortly before the visit, I am not able to fill the bowl. I’m glad your pups were worn out, that’s always the goal!

Wonderful quiet area, beautifully maintained, the only downfall was the mosquitos who seemed immune to my bug spray 😂

Host replied: Yep, the bugs can be thick, especially at dusk! Thanks for visiting!

The spot was perfect! The directions were clear and we had no issues finding the area. My dogs loved the wooded area and had plenty of room to run. Alice was so nice and provided the dogs a huge water dish. Will defined be back! Thank you Alice for making our first Sniff Spot a great experience!

Host replied: I’m glad you had a great first visit! Hope to see you again.

Cool wooded area! Host left fresh water for us which was great :)

Host replied: Thanks for visiting, hope you visit again soon!

My dogs loved feeling like they were running through the woods! Everything was as described and the bugs weren’t too bad. It was very private, but my only concern was that my German Shepherd-Husky mix with a high prey drive could have easily jumped the 3 foot fence if she saw something on the other side. Just something to be aware of if your pup is a Houdini :)

Host replied: I’m glad your pups had a good run! We are working on unburying some of the lower fence that has been covered by top soil with the summer rains running downhill. It’s always a work in progress. 🙂

Really nice spot and great host! Fence was all in tact so I felt comfortable letting my reactive dog roam off leash! He had more than enough space to explore and he seemed happy climbing up the hill! I’m not very coordinated but I was able to navigate the hill and areas fairly well at a steady pace!

Host replied: Thank you for visiting, I’m glad you had a good time!
