55Very nice setup and large area for my dog to run in. The property was secure and clean. My dog enjoyed the walk across plank and loved the tree rope toy. I had a very tired and happy dog after all the running and play. Thank you for sharing your beautiful piece of property.
55It was fun! Plenty of room and the extra toys were nice to have. Our dog is out of shape so we need to up his walking cause he overdid it but he had a blast. He’s too pushy with other animals so it was nice to not have to worry about that and our yard is too small. He did enjoy the water in the ditch. We hadn’t planned on that but we found a towel in the car. :) We will use again once he’s better able to handle a running fetching session!

Description

Almost an acre of pastureland overlooking Jacoby Creek Valley for dogs to sniff, roam, play, and most of all be off leash and in nature. Come with your dog alone or bring some friends and dog pals (up to 6 total) to romp and chase and play while you relax. There are some toys and obstacles, water, and lots to dig. Please bring your own balls. There may be cattle in the adjoining field below, occasionally deer though rarely in the daytime. Chairs are set for a pastoral view, particularly lovely at sunset. People and cars may go by on the driveway. The spot is all yours when you are there and with respect to reactive dogs, I won't greet you unless we set that up in advance. I want the dogs to feel that this is their space and we won't intrude. If your plans change you can cancel or reschedule up to 2 hours prior to your reservation through the app but it does not allow changes after that. Please no smoking or using while visiting. Enjoy!

Hazards

Uneven ground for walking on and dogs may dig holes. Humboldt has ticks in grasslands seasonally, so check dogs and yourself if you're concerned. Tree drops walnuts in the fall which are not good for chewing/eating. I pick them up every morning but if you see some, please dispose in the poop pail. Deer are rarely present during the day but should be shooed away (not by dogs) before entering if they are there. If your dog digs a hole, please use the shovel by the tree to fill up to prevent injuries.

We are retired with more land than we need for ourselves and love the idea of a self-serve place where dogs can come and play and their peeps can play or relax. Our daughter introduced us to sniffspots and we see how her dogs love to have free time and space in nature, whether they run and play or just lay about. She sees value in them making their own choices and they are happy creatures.

It is a work in progress. :o) Once inside the heavy gate, you will find a long grassy driveway leading into a large undeveloped parcel. Please feel free to drive in and park at the north end of the driveway. [There is no fence on the east side of the driveway.] Mother Nature propels the plants upward - but we've hired goats to trim it down. It is still pretty rough though; definitely not manicured. Now we have 2-4 goats to maintain the brush. So, your dog(s) MUST be gentle around the goats. We will meet you on your first visit to help with the goats. The large parcel is fully enclosed.
