Location

Hazards

There are uncut blackberry bushes on our neighbors property. We have a very long & secluded driveway, but the main road is busy. Our only neighbor has a small dog that is very rarely out and hidden behind a lot of foliage -- if concerned, the right side of the house is unable to see their yard/dog.

    Meet your host

I have grown up with a variety of dogs from lhasa apsos to golden retrievers to malamutes, and I love each unique personality, disposition, and energy level that different breeds bring to the table - so you could say I'm an equal opportunity dog lover! My partner and I love having dogs around, and are so happy to share our space with you!

DEEP SNOW HERE! AT LEAST A FOOT OUT BY THE GATE. WOULD SUGGEST WAIT UNTIL WE GET SOME WARMER WEATHER AND RAIN. WEATHER ALERT: If you are checking the weather online check the Ferndale (98248) weather. The Bellingham weather stops at the Smith Road. My prevailing wind is from the South BUT I do get the cold NE wind from Canada. NOTE: I have a new young dog who is still learning about socialization and is a bit on the vocal side. I apologize if this is a problem for your dogs. I will try to keep her under control. This is an acreage area which formerly held dog events; barn hunt, earth dog, carting, rally, obedience, tracking and nose work. The off leash area was set up for the dogs to have a place to run and play safely away from the other dogs when not working. This is all sandy loam so no standing water even when it rains. There is a water faucet down by the smaller barn (west side). You are welcome to fill your dogs bowls. Just be sure you turn the water off after. I have put some folding chairs just inside the big door of the barn. You are welcome to use them. I have also put a shovel out there so you can fill in any holes your dog digs. It is important you put balls back in the crate, they do not do well under the mower (the mower doesn't like it either. Please fill in any large holes your dog digs, so my mower doesn't bog down in one. The garden is done for this year so if you want a bit more room to run your dogs, you may close the 2 big gates and let your dog run in the "parking area". It is all fully fenced. Be aware, the big gate into the back pasture does have a gap under it. THE BACK PASTURE IS OFF LIMITS THERE IS LIVESTOCK BACK THERE! PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG EVEN IN THE BIG AREA. THANK YOU!!!
