Welcome to Blackberry Pond Dog Retreat! This property has caught the attention of Hollywood film crews several times, so we figured if they find it intriguing, well, pups will certainly LOVE it. If you want to temporarily escape the hustle and bustle of city life, this place will be your sanctuary. You and your pup will enjoy what we like to call our 13-acre “nature preserve.” 🦌ONE WITH NATURE With plenty of room to roam and explore, our property offers ultimate privacy and tranquility. You’ll forget about the outside world while here. Don’t be surprised, though, if you spot a deer, turkey, turtles, etc. as you and your pup play. Our 1-acre, gator-free pond is stocked with plenty of fish. If you’re lucky, you may see our friendly Bald Eagle that likes to hover in the trees above the pond. 🐍 Please pay attention to your surroundings, particularly the ground. Snakes are not an uncommon sight during the warmer weather. 🦉 Be mindful of birds of prey if you visit with a small dog. Keep them close to you. Hawks, eagles, and owls call the area home. 🏊‍♀️ Please do not get too close to the pond, especially if you cannot swim. Swimming by humans is not allowed. Dogs are welcome to play in the pond. 🐢 You may see turtles on the property. We suggest you do not pick them up. Some of them are snapping turtles and may bite you. 🐇 While sightings are rare during visits, please remain aware of your surroundings. Do not attempt to feed any wildlife you may stumble upon - that includes deer, rabbits, otter, turkeys, fox, bear (very rare), etc. 🪲 During the summer months, the bugs (Ex: mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, etc) can be bad. We recommend using the complimentary bug spray we will place on the picnic table behind the shed. 🐜 While we do our best to eliminate ant beds, please watch where you step. ☀️ The rays from the sun are strong. We encourage guests to take advantage of our complimentary sunscreen. 🩴It's strongly advised that you wear closed-toe shoes when on site, especially if you decide to go on the trail. Flip flops or sandals are not a good idea. 📹 NOTE: To ensure the safety of our property and guests, we do have several security cameras in front of the house, behind the house and near the shed. They will never invade your personal space. ⚠️NOTE: There is a trampoline near the gazebo, but due to insurance restrictions, it is not available for guest use at this time. We do hope to possibly offer it as an extra in the future. Sorry for the inconvenience! 🐾 Off‑Leash Awareness🐾 Our spot is largely unfenced, so if you choose to let your dog roam off‑leash, please keep them within sight and under strong voice control. For everyone’s safety: ✅Know your dog’s tendencies (chasing wildlife, following scents, greeting strangers) and stay ahead of them ✅Call your dog back if they wander too far or get distracted ✅Keep treats or toys handy to help redirect excited explorers ✅Leash up immediately if you see wildlife or feel unsure about the surroundings ✅Consider using a GPS or Bluetooth tracker on your dog’s collar for extra peace of mind, especially in open areas ✅Do a quick “recall warm‑up” at the start of your visit — a few easy come‑when‑called reps help set the tone Thanks for helping keep this space safe and enjoyable for all pups and people.

Hello and welcome to Blackberry Pond Dog Retreat! 👋 Thanks so much for checking out my little slice of paradise. I truly hope you and your pup enjoy every moment here. My roots run deep in Berkeley County. While the area continues to grow with new faces from out of state, I’m proud to be a true local (a rare gem these days!). My ancestors first settled in the Lowcountry back in the late 1600s, and that heritage continues to shape how I care for this land and community. When I’m not hosting Sniffspot guests or dog sitting, I stay busy with remote work and community involvement. I’m an active member of several genealogical societies and love diving into local history. If you ever have questions about the area or just want a fun fact or two, I’m always happy to share.

At remember when farm your dog can run free, play in the large fenced in yard, and take a swim in the large pond. There are other farm animals and yes dogs on the property. Everyone is fully vaccinated and very social but can be fenced in a private 1 acre area during your visit if you prefer. I do prefer that all of the farm animals are safe during your visit so would like any information about your fur baby I may need to know prior to visit so that I may safely accommodate all involved. I promise your pet will love the farm. Farm animals includee: chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, mini pigs, pony, donkey and dogs, everything has its private location available during visits if needed and requested. If you or your pet would like to and can safely interact with the animals that is also a possibility. I hope you enjoy your visit and come again soon.
