55Great spot away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Lots of space for my pup to roam and sniff. Nice seating areas overlooking the property to view the horses and goat/sheep. He’s sweet. Toured the barn which has a lot of cool history for the area. Got to meet the horses which was so amazing. This place has a lot of majestical energy.
55 My dogs thoroughly enjoyed their time at Parker’s Bark Park. They had the delightful opportunity to observe horses securely from behind a fence and had a blast playing with Jodi’s wonderfully gentle and well-mannered dogs. The panoramic views here are simply breathtaking, showcasing a genuine Southwestern landscape that feels like it’s straight out of a Hollywood film. Jodi’s place is rich with history, deserving of recognition as a historic landmark. Jodi’s love for animals is evident, and her kindness, sensitivity, and generosity shine through in how she shares her beautiful property. Noting the natural dusty environment, Jodi thoughtfully offered her dog wash station to ensure my car stayed clean, a gesture I deeply appreciated even though my dogs have seen muddier days elsewhere. Jodi went above and beyond by offering refreshments for me and ensuring my dogs had access to cool, fresh water throughout our visit. The comfortable seating at the picnic table and convenient parking added to the ease of the experience. The property is a real working ranch, with Jodi’s passion for horse breeding evident and various sections demarcated by fences. I chose a spot that was most accessible and spent my time immersed in watching my dogs joyfully explore and interact with the surroundings, including interacting with her horses through the secure fencing. For anyone seeking a unique and welcoming environment for their dogs, coupled with exceptional hospitality, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Parker’s Bark Park.
55The JP Longstock Ranch (Parker’s Bark Park) is the perfect place for high energy dogs, dogs that just like to relax and sniff around, dogs who like to animal watch and are curious and for every dog in between. Nestled in the mountains on the border of Tecaté, Jodi, the host truly takes pride in her space and keeps both pups and humans in mind. Right off the bat, it was clear she is an extremely genuine person with a love for all animals and their humans. There was so much attention to detail and an array of activities to enhance the experience. These can be chosen ahead a time or customized to what you feel like during the visit. Jodi was the most kind accommodating host and was great with communication. She kindly greeted us quickly showing us how to use the gate and pointed out all of the amenities. We were able to park inside the property which was nice. The ranch was complete with a shaded area/ glamping shed, seats, fire pit, water bowls, water for humans, games, and more. Jodi does have 3 dogs (Dalmatian, Australian, chihuahua). She offered to have them either in the house, behind a gated area, or available for play with our pup. My pup (Doberman) does not have reactivity issues so we wanted them all to play. It went amazing. Her male pups were great with mine and played the entire time together. It really helped to get her energy out! Jodi is very open to and mindful of whatever it is you would like. We were offered a tour of the last standing buffalo barn, meeting with her world class/beautiful horses, riding lessons, bathing them, feed them or just enjoy their presence. We were also offered several painting activities. My partner decided to ride one of her horses (has equestrian experience). Jodi displayed an immense amount of knowledge of her horses and riding in general. We were able to see the pups from the stable and riding area the entire time. The ranch space is very large, well maintained, and has lots of different textures, activities for dogs to unleash their zoomies, sniff, play, relax. It was really fun for me to hang out as well whether it be at the fire pit, running with my pup or watching the beautiful horses. My pup and I feel extremely lucky that someone like Jodi is generous enough to share her space. We live about an hour away but it is so worth the drive, we will definitely be returning regularly! If you love your pup, you should definitely be checking out the JP Longstock Ranch! -Jessica, Dennis, & Élodie

Description

After opening the gate under the JP LONGSTOCK RANCH sign, and shutting it behind your vehicle- you can park next to the shed and let your dog run free in the very secure and spacious ranch hillside. The spot consists of 3 acres fully fenced with a shed and picnic table offering a rustic ranch experience with views of the huge almost 100 year old historical barn where the Buffalo Soldiers once kept their horses. Now used as a breeding and riding ranch, you will likely see the unique leopard spotted Appaloosa X Friesian horses in their paddocks or turned out enjoying kicking up their heels (sometimes with their babies) in the nearby arena. The shed has electrity, free Wi-Fi, privacy, drinking water for you and your companion(s), fire pit, colorful picnic bench, couch, chairs, and table stocked with puzzles and old school games. The area is large and wide open for your pups to play and run with some large trees, a kiddy pool and horse shoe pit. Enjoy the spectacular desert mountain views surrounding the rustic charming ranch. We offer rock painting, using our metal detector to discover old treasures left by the soldiers, tours of the barn and meeting the horses all at a small additional cost if you choose to add some extra entertainment. If not, just enjoy your time with your pet(s) and make yourself at home. The vibe here is very laid back, clean and welcoming. We can cater to almost any requests so please let us know what you would like your experiences here to be like or any special events or instructions to give you the most quality out of your time at the ranch. Tons of room to run and play or comfortable to just relax and unwind.
