Description

This private residential property features abundant off street parking and walking trails amidst a forest and 2 shallow creeks. Though unfenced, we offer doggie bags, sunscreen, big repellent as well as dog treats, human snacks, and light beverages to our guests. Enjoy walks and games of fetch amongst woodland wildlife just minutes from downtown Charlottesville! For breaks, please make yourself (and your dogs) comfortable on chairs at the creek, firepit, or back porch.

HOST NOTE

Stairs are required to access supplies on the side porch (with the red door). Property is composed of gently rolling paths among the woods - some trails have woodchips, some do not. Tick and mosquito spray recommended (and available on-site - for humans). Access back paths extending until Lambs Rd by crossing a creek using stone steps. Walk the trails at your own risk! While we do maintain them, please be mindful of sticks, rocks, mud, and other potential tripping hazards. Trails are groomed and marked with white blazes on the trees and/or affixed to yellow poles.

* Two adults max included in each booking. If you would like to bring more adults with you, please add these "extras" to your reservation ($5 per person beyond 2). If you plan to bring children with you, please contact me in advance -- the forest is not suitable for very young children who are not strong and independent walkers. * Dispose of all droppings, garbage, and recycling in the outdoor bins located on the side porch or at the top of the driveway. * No access to the screened-in porch, garage, or home is permitted; however, you are welcome to use any other seating you'd like. Please replace weather coverings for any furniture you use. * Walk the trails at your own risk. While we do maintain the trails, be mindful of sticks, rocks, mud, and other potential tripping hazards. Trails are groomed and marked with white blazes on the trees and/or affixed to yellow poles. * Guests are prohibited from bringing firearms and other weapons on the property. * Smoking or vaping is only permitted on the gravel driveway and all materials must be taken with you.

I am thrilled to welcome you and your beloved to come explore the woods around my home! I work from home for a nonprofit organization, and generally expect to be here during your visit, although I will respectfully give you your space because I am immune suppressed. In addition to my own dog, I have an indoor-outdoor cat. I require advance notice for bookings to ensure that I can secure them during your visit.

25 acres with mostly wooded trails, and some open fields. Tree-lined creek trail, weaves through property. Lots of logs and boulders for dogs to sniff, chase wild life, and cool while doing it. Easy parking and access. Info for guests: Leash not required. Some fencing in back may be down. Use your best judgement. Clean up not required. Driving Instructions: When going up drive way stay to right. Continue towards barn. Look for red metal gate. Stop and park at red gate. Please do not drive past gate. Walk through gate. Go any direction from there. But... For most direct trail to creek walk to end of riding arena. On far side of arena there is a double gate. Trail is just past this gate. Follow this trail into woods. Creek is at bottom of hill. Once at creek multiple trails intersect near creek. There is also a trail on other side of creek that will weave back around. Trails are somewhat rugged. Watch for fallen debris from trees, ruts in ground caused by flooding, exposed roots are trip hazards. Watch your step.
