Description

Welcome to The Vista, a 30-acre outdoor space, with 15 acres for dogs and owners to enjoy. The area includes three main sections: an open field, a pond, and hiking trails. While there are no visible animals or pets on the higher levels, neighbor dogs may occasionally be visible at a distance from the lower areas. Wildlife is active and may cross your path—please avoid interaction when possible. This is an unfenced, off-leash location, and we cannot be held liable for dogs who are escape artists! Our pond spans 20 feet across and over 20 feet deep, with an almost immediate drop-off when stepping in. The pond is spring-fed and stocked, so feel free to swim, fish, or float during your visit (anytime between June and November). There is no electricity or formal structure, but you are welcome to set up a tent or umbrella for shade. This is a carry in–carry out site, so please leave no trace behind, including your trash. For twice the fun with your furry friend, consider upgrading to camp overnight! A porta potty is onsite, but there is no water or electricity available. Please note that security video surveillance is in place for safety.

HOST NOTE

**FALL/WINTER** During certain weeks in the fall/early winter we do not allow woods entry due to hunting season. While there will NEVER be a hunter on-site during a Sniffspot reservation, we can not control neighboring properties. We therefore request you remain on main trails, do not enter the deep woods, and wear noticeable colors. Reservation fees will be discounted during these select times. We do not recommend allowing dogs in the water when the temperatures drop. Although the water may not be frozen, cold water can pose severe risks to your dog, including tail fractures. **Spring/Summer** The pond is over 20ft deep without a bank. It is a sudden drop 2-3ft from the waters edge. Enter carefully, humans are welcome to enjoy as well!

She was my best girl and the soul of every adventure. When she passed at 13, we laid her to rest here, in the place she loved most, so she could forever be part of this land. Today, we honor her memory by welcoming other dogs and their people to enjoy this special space. Her spirit lives on in every wagging tail and joyful run through the fields. The Vista is about slowing down, reconnecting—with nature, with loved ones, and with yourself. It’s where peace and play live side by side, and where the best memories are made under open skies.

Welcome to A+J’s private dog park! When you book a visit, you and your dog(s) are the only ones in the space. Playdates are welcome. Our Sniffspot is our fully fenced, backyard attached to the house, with a private entrance from the driveway. All breeds are welcome. Reactive dogs are welcome. This centrally located spot in the Capital Region will be a comfortable, safe and fun space for you and your dog(s) to play. Located in a quiet neighborhood in Guilderland (near the borders of Albany and North Bethlehem) with ample driveway space. Easy access to the backyard - you can use the private black metal side gate (pictured) to enter the backyard. You’ll find ample space for running and playing. There’s even a dedicated smaller fenced in dog area within the larger fenced in backyard (if you’d like to use that dog-friendly space as well). For the humans, there is a large covered porch, with ample seating and outlets for charging your phone. For dogs, there is a water bowl with readily accessible hose for water, toys and treats available for use while in the backyard. We have two small pups (Daschunds) of our own (Murphy and Bucky) who love their backyard but they will be inside during your visit so your pups will have the space all to themselves.
