55My visit to Odin's Oasis was my first experience using SniffSpot and it was lovely. I recently adopted a large mixed breed and he has been having some difficulty with leash reactivity, so we needed somewhere secluded just for us. Marla was wonderful, and took the time needed to give us a quick tour and show us where we could find a few key things around the property. She was very clear that her dogs may be heard briefly from inside the house, and this was a bit of a concern of mine before arriving. However, it was very minimal and my usually reactive dog didn't seem bothered at all. He seemed to immediately feel at home here. There were lots of different kinds of terrain for my dog to explore, and various toys, treats, and supplies were provided. My dog typically loves laying in the sun, but there was also ample shade for him to just lay and chill. He had a great time!! Fencing was great for my big boy too! I highly recommend, and will certainly be back.

Description

***Please note that all pricing is in US Dollars*** Our Sniffspot is a very large, fully-fenced yard with shade trees and a mix of grass and untended areas for play and exploration. If you're looking for pristine lawns, we aren't for you. But, if your dog enjoys running at a stretch, exploring rocks, stumps, brush piles, mounds of leaves and soil and a weed patch or two, they will have a blast here. Schedule: Typically weekdays from 10:30am to 4pm and 10:00-12:30 Sundays though please review the calendar to check for additional available times. (Please message me if you wish to book outside of the calendar hours, i.e. evenings, or if the site shows as temporarily deactivated, I still may be able to open up a slot for you.)

Hazards

Before using our space, please be aware that our yard is a work in progress when not scheduled for Sniffspot use. We're still adding gardens and walkways, so exposed dirt/topsoil/organic compost* (all muddy/messy when wet) is present as is equipment such as mowers, rollers, wheelbarrows, etc. A visit to our yard is closer to farm, field and forest than it is to patio stones and turf. Do take the time to look through our photos and read the additional notes provided with them (best viewed using a tablet or laptop). - Please watch your head and your step as you enter through our gate. - Avoid the metal window inserts on the double gate facing street. - With our gorgeous trees and gardens come critters such as flies, bees, mosquitoes, June bugs, etc. Though we haven't discovered any ticks in our yard, it's always worthwhile checking for them after outdoor outings in our region. - Beware of hostas in the gardens. They can cause stomach upset if ingested. - Prickly or thorny weeds may be found in the weed patches and other "wilder" areas. - Brush piles are great fun for dogs to sniff in and around but they do pose inherent risks (pokes, scratches). - Please keep dogs from climbing log piles which may shift or become unstable. - The soil/leaf/grass piles are soft and not meant for human climbing. If your dogs do their business on them out of reach of the pooper scooper, please message me. - Please be careful stepping in/on our gardens and creek bed. Rocks are placed freely and not grouted in place. - Feel free to move the red lawn chairs but please note our lawn is uneven. Ensure all 4 legs of each chair are stable before taking your seat. - Along with squirrels, chipmunks and birds, our yard has been known to be visited by rabbits, skunks, raccoons, and opossums. Rarely do these visits occur during our standard Sniffspot hours, but they are a slim possibility. - Waterproof, treaded footwear recommended in the spring. The yard may have wet, slick or muddy spots, especially toward the back. *organic compost may include the dry manure found in bags of retail gardening products

Host replied: Thanks so much, Lexi for your lovely review and your willingness to try out our brand new Sniffspot with your beautiful big boy. I'm so happy both of you enjoyed our yard. As this was our first time hosting, I was glad my 2 dogs behaved inside as I had expected (some barking while we were meeting and then settling down once I went back inside). In subsequent visits, I won't be coming out to meet with you so they should be even more chill ;). I'm thrilled to know you want to come back and we will definitely be delighted to have you!
