55We had a great time! We did notice a lot of thorn brushes surrounding the main area so keep an eye on your pup if they have a habit of finding themselves in trouble, otherwise we enjoyed looking for local wildlife and the peaceful quiet.
45Huge piece of land with no else around (no people or other dogs heard of seen). However, the only trails that exist are two short paths going to the two cabins on the property. We tried walking around the property (off the two trails) with our dogs but its filled with tons of thorn bushes/branches. We ended up walking down the hill towards the creek/small waterfall but there isn't much more walking we can do in that area either (plus it was up against the road and a bunch of other houses), so this spot is mostly for the dogs to run around themselves instead of land to do a trail walk. Three dogs came for our little adventure: great pry mix, aussie mix, bully mix. The long fur kiddos didnt have issues, but my pittie/bully mix left the Sniffspot with TONS of thorns embedded on his body. And of course the long fur kiddos has issues with ticks, but mine didnt. So fair warning to keep an eye out for those thorns and ticks.

Once you get to the address there will be a small brown barn/shack that is not inhabited next to the gate. Open the chain and swing the gate open into the trail. If it swings in the other direction, the nuts and bolts will wear down. Park facing the gate off the road. Please do not drive the car inside the gated area on the trail. The winter weather will create ruts and mud and your car may get stuck. Once out of the car, keep walking up the trail and around as you see signs to follow. There is a deck for you to sit on with a chair.

Description

60 acres of forest and trails on a woodland preserve. Past our property is the Appalachian Trail. Canopy shade when there are leaves. There are little streams, logs, rocks and all sort of areas for digging, running, jumping and sniffing. There is an upper trail and a lower trail and they both loop together. Up the trail to the right is a deck with chair and table and supplies. You can watch your dog in all directions from this vantage point as they run free and smell all the smells of a forest.

HOST NOTE

There are occasional little streams of water about - it has been so dry, I don’t think there are any extra ones up there, but there is a creek to the right of the trail as you drive. You are welcome to go down to that area for a drink or splash - but there will be houses along the other side of the creek. We do own the property halfway into the creek along the entirety of it, but I cannot control possible people or animals on the other side of the creek.

Patrick and I live down the hill from this spot in an old farmhouse with a stream in our backyard. That stream runs the entirety of the trails on the right side as you come in. We have two dogs, ducks, chickens and cats at our Pet Rodeo.
