55Exactly what I wanted for my dog. We spent an hour in the winter weather doing a basic obedience training. Stephanie's place is fully fenced and secured and that's what we needed. It has enough distractions (e.g. horses) to take our obedience training to a next level. Our GR had so much fun trying the agility equipment!!!! And we had too!!! We will be back. 🐾
35The agility area was great! Fully fenced and a great size for our Vizsla to sniff, explore and train on the equipment with us. As a few other people mentioned there were a few poops in that area that hadn't been picked up but it wasn't a big deal for us. I think these hosts are quite busy running their K9 facility and farm and have a hands-off approach. There is a bin outside the gate to put poo bags. The barn attached to the agility area is full of barking dogs (unseen) but as others have mentioned, they do settle after a while (something to consider if you have a dog-reactive pup!). I would give this place 5 stars however there is some mixed messaging concerning where to park which left us stranded on the property for 5 hours. Luckily our dog handled it extremely well, but I could see this being an issue with a dog that is more reactive. PLEASE follow the description on Steph's profile about the road down to the Sniff Spot not being winterized and park at the top of the hill! Unfortunately our booking confirmation email had different instructions to drive down the hill and park outside of the agility area with explicit instructions not to walk the property as there may be loose dogs. This property appears to be a bite training facility for protection dogs so we didn't want to go against the rules or risk running into an off-leash dog. The signage at the top of the hill also had arrows pointing down the hill, where we parked and ultimately got stuck. Reception is spotty here. We tried calling 7 tow truck companies and none of them would service the area and the one tow truck driver who did come said he wouldn't be able to get us out and that we might as well knock on the neighbour's doors to see if they had a farm tractor to pull us out. We had to search the property for shovels to try and dig a path. Steph eventually lent us a snow blower. I think the driveway should be roped off or at least a sign posted during winter to help others not make this mistake. She told us someone else had gotten stuck the other day, so we weren't the only ones. After hours of clearing out her neighbours driveway and chipping away the sheet of ice below it, we made it out. I think this place is great and probably amazing in the summer time. Steph is very sweet but again, busy running her property which I understand so we didn't get much help beyond letting us borrow the snow blower. Hopefully she can update the emailed instructions and post appropriate signage for the Winter so no one else finds themselves in this position. Beyond our hour of fun in the agility area, it was a pretty stressful experience and we weren't offered a refund. Please park at the top of the hill!
55This is a lovely property. Very clean and beautiful scenery.
55Great spot, clean and lots of room for the dogs too run. My dogs had a great time
55Our three dogs love it here, and our toddler also has a lot of fun here. We have a Samoyed who likes to run very much. There is a large enough space for activities. This is really an unforgettable experience.
55Great sized area with a nice fence! My pups enjoyed the agility equipment.
55The facility is very nice and enclosed. Dogs had a blast running around and seeing some horses. They really enjoyed the tunnels and going up on the agility equipment. For sure will be returning!
55Great spot, lots of room to run. It is very easy to find and drive into the property. I appreciated the equipment, I recommend this spot if you live in the area

45Great spot. We were looking for a place with distractions to practice focus and agility. This was perfect. Horses in the neighbouring field were the ultimate distraction which was exactly what we were looking for. The only reason this wasn't a 5 star.... prior customers had left poop in the field. So we had quite a bit of clean up to do before starting. But the space is great. It is well signed regarding protocol, but I would argue the owners shouldn't have to do that. Customers should know to pick up after themselves. It is too bad that other customers are so inconsiderate. We will definitely be back. We think the space is great

Private Dog Park In Waterdown at Goldenwood Acres

***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD*** Welcome to Goldenwood Acres! On our 26 acre hobby farm, we have a 6 acre fully fenced farm field/dog park. Ride up and park at the white barn, and walk your leashed puppers to the field past our gardens, woodlots, and ponds. From the barn to the dog park you will get familiar with our surroundings and other fences. There is access to the forest and two ponds on the property. Crossing through the tree line, you have private access to the 6-acre field. Four-foot tall fencing is installed for your security. The best time to come is May to September. Come walk between the sunflower rows that grow up to 10 feet tall! We cut the field between the sunflowers, make trails and play spots. We also leave big areas untouched for our honeybees (hives located in the other field). Enjoy seeing natural landscapes, trees, and privacy. Have fun, play catch and let your animal have unleashed freedom! We have uploaded a printable "safety map" for each season, that contains a legend for your use. Note the fire pit is not available during the winter season (November to May). The main gates are back up. This season we will also be placing pinic tables with a BBQ for large groups. I recommend booking the summer weekends in advance as they will fill up fast! Fencing Details: The 6-acre Dog Park Field is permanently fenced with approximately 2,500 linear feet of 4’ tall farm fence. The farm fence consists of professionally installed 2” by 4” squares of wire mesh and 6” cedar posts (commonly used for smaller livestock such as sheep, donkey, cows, etc). There is on openings for the main gates that has a temporary gate. The opening is 5’ wide. If you look at the photos you can see the locations of the gates on the main photo or on “safety map” (see photos and captions). We have more fencing on other parts of the property outside of our dog park in case your dog does not have good recall. Refer to the safety map (see photos). If you have any questions, please let me know.
