Feel free to post the fun time your had at our spot ❤️ We have a 1.5 acre fully fenced (Most of the fence is 5.5ft - 6ft small back section of the fence is shorter ~ 4ft. Fence not a solid fence same fencing as what is used in most dog parks, so if your dog is a serious flight risk they would probably be able to break through) 1/2 the yard is wooded with walking trail. Plenty of smells from critters that pass through. For doggos we have, kiddie pools, a sprinkler and a dig pit in summer and fall if it's hot enough. A ball thrower, some agility equipment, and a flirt pole. For humans I will have out the Keurig if you would like something to drink (coffee, hot chocolate, cider) while your pup plays. We have chickens on the Left corner of the house, they are in a fully enclosed coop/run + a divider fence to keep our dogs out of that area.

Hazards

HOST NOTE

Same hazards you would have running through the woods, there are bugs and they can be bad in the summer. I do provide bug spray in the summer. Though the backyard is entirely fenced it is a cheap fence, there are areas that are bent with age (next year we hope to reinforce/put in a better fence) large/athletic dogs could jump the fence if they wanted. If you have a high flight risk dog I wouldn't trust the fence. That being said I have had many dogs here and have never had a problem because our yard is big enough. But I just want people to be aware 😊 Neighbors have a boxer, we had one incident where the boxer got free and ran up on a guest, this has happened once in 2 years, he is not aggressive but I am aware a lot of Sniffspot pups are dog reactive. I want to make this known so you can be aware and keep an eye out, again I have never had him run up on us, and have only had 1 guest tell me it happened in 2 years. You can park in our driveway so you are closer to the backyard gate.

Please try your best to keep dogs away from the chickens, I will take pictures of chicken area so that you can see if that will be an issue. Also please try to keep dogs from digging, in areas other then the digging approved area. Have fun!

Come and enjoy our own private 3plus acres of wooded with some open space and trails. Fully fenced in and secure. So much space for your fur babies to run and explore. No need to stress with other dogs that may be reactive. Or maybe your pup doesn’t play well with others and prefers their own space. Our private dog park is for you. This space is amazing. It is not attached to our back yard and is a completely separate and private area. A great place for play dates with others, maybe even a picnic for the humans. Bring your snowshoes if you would like a bit of a workout yourself off trail in the deeper snow! PLEASE NOTE: Zero tolerance for smoking of ANYTHING while on our property. You may smoke in your own personal vehicle. But also, do NOT leave your dogs unattended. Please pick up after your dog. I am finding a crazy amount of poop left behind. Fill any holes you pup digs and return toy to bin. Also, in the winter months, please be aware that their is no lighting in the field. The designated Sniffspot parking area has ample lighting but none in the field.

Rice Creek Sniffspot

A large, open 1.25 acre fenced in yard with multiple small hills that is bordered on the west side by a public walking trail (with 6 foot fence) and on the north side by Rice Creek (with 5 foot fence). Note that the creek is not directly accessible from the Sniffspot. During the winter months, deer and foxes pass just outside of the fenced in yard, while in warmer months the creek entices additional wildlife as well as the occasional canoeist or kayak. Agility equipment pictured are available during the warmer months and are not available in the winter. There's abundant street parking as we are located at a dead-end. Please do not park in the driveway. Enter the yard using the gate located to the left of the garage.

This is a great little spot with alot of privacy once you are down the hill by the river. There is an open field for the dogs to run and play catch with a mix of grass and sand, There are multiple spots where the dogs and people can get into the water if you wish . I also have a picnic table and some chairs down there to sit and relax at , it is very peaceful and private. I also offer overnight camping for guests for 100 a night , I have a nice large lodge style tent set up overlooking the river , there is a grill picnic table , firepit a couple fishing poles or you could always bring your own. I also have kayaks and a canoe available for rent also.
