The "Maplewood Farm" Dog Park (5-acres!)

Welcome to “Maplewood Farm” Dog Park -- a peaceful 5-acre nature escape in south Maplewood near Battle Creek, just minutes from I-94 and McKnight. This is still undeveloped farmland tucked into the suburbs, with rolling hills, mature trees, wooded trails, open field space, and natural wildlife. It has a different feel from a typical backyard spot and gives dogs a private place to run, sniff, explore, and decompress away from crowded dog parks. For history buffs, the property also has the only standing barn in Maplewood, built in 1896, still in its original form and in use. The main fenced play area is approx. 60 ft x 100 ft and is great for off-leash play, fetch, tug with the spring pole, and burning off energy. There is also a water-play area with a splash pad and above-head sprinkler/mister, plus a sprayer if you want to rinse or bathe your pup on the grass. Just outside the fenced area, I’ve added a cozy campfire seating area overlooking the dog park. Evening guests who book 1.5+ hours are welcome to use it at no extra cost when conditions allow -- a peaceful way to relax while your pup plays nearby. For a good visit, I recommend starting in the fenced area, then leashing your pup for a slower sniff walk around the rest of the property (imagine an entire city block). From the fenced area, you can follow the back gate into the wooded trail system, head toward the back cul-de-sac area, loop back toward the campfire area and barn, then continue through the mature forest trail. I’ve also installed several runner trolley systems along the trail for semi-free roaming, giving dogs a safe, guided way to sniff and explore under the trees. From there, you can circle back toward the open field. Signs are posted to help guide you. This is a natural, dog-friendly space, so dogs are welcome to explore, climb on log and wood chip piles, chew or pull on sticks, sniff around, and enjoy the property in whatever way feels safe and appropriate to you. I’m not precious about the landscape here. My priority is your pup having a good, safe visit. Best times to visit: mornings and early evenings are usually great for active dogs, especially during warmer weather. Afternoons can still be enjoyable with shade, water play, and wooded trails for slower sniff walks. Early evenings are one of my favorite times here -- you can enjoy the sunset, relax by the campfire, or unwind while your dog plays and explores. If I’m home, I may briefly welcome first-time visitors once your dog is safely in the fenced area. If you prefer a no-contact visit, just message me ahead of time and I won’t greet you. As a dog lover and builder, I’m always improving the space and adding more dog-friendly features. LongTail Adventures (fearful & reactive dog friendly!)

**Formerly Pink Pitbull Club** We used to bring our dogs here to Pink Pitbull Club, and when the opportunity to buy came along we jumped on it. We have one reactive girl who has just loved having a huge yard to play and not worry about other people and dogs, I'm sure your pups will love it as well! The front gate is remotely controlled to let guests in, and a button on the inside of the gate for whenever you need to leave. There is a doorbell camera set up for when you arrive, just ring the bell, I'll say hello and let you in :). There's an additional doorbell camera right on the inside of the gate in case you need anything during your visit. I'm happy to chat on the app for any folks that are Deaf/HOH to get in or need help. The yard is 5ft fence with a privacy screen. There are trees and shrubs for your pups to sniff and explore, as well as a wide open lawn perfect for fetch. There are parkour options and a ball pit in the back of the yard and a toy box up near the gate. For summer, we've got some water options to keep your pups cool - a kiddie pool and splash pad, as well as the hose with a mister attachment! Towels provided to dry off before you leave.

I also offer overnight camping for guests for 100 a night , I have a nice large lodge style tent set up overlooking the river , there is a grill picnic table , firepit a couple fishing poles or you could always bring your own. Nearly 1/3 of an acre in Roseville available for your dog to sniff until their heart’s content! Open mowed grassy area wide enough for zoomies and long enough for fetch, as well as natural/unmanicured shaded areas for “jungle sniffari’s”. Not far off of Highway 36 and 35E, enjoy the perks of room to run while having the privacy of your own space. Plenty of seating for humans underneath a shaded gazebo, with a table and basic amenities for guest use. Please be aware that we do have other dogs in the neighborhood. This includes our direct neighbors to the north, who we share a chain link fence with. If you are visiting on an evening or weekend, there’s a good chance their dog will be outside also!

We offer you access to a 1/2 acre, fully fenced, off leash area where your dog can do whatever they want. They can dig in the sandbox or dirt pile (or wherever else they would like), walk on the meandering mowed paths, climb the gigantic tree branch, hop around on the stack of straw bales, sniff the local plants, flowers and grasses, play games with their favorite person on the mowed playing field, or take a nap in the sun (or shade if you come in the beginning of the day). Come try it out. We think this is the place your dog would ask to visit if they could talk.

90 minute time slot. We have an open 70 acres surrounding a private pond with a trail thru the fields and woods around nature. The time allotment is 90 minutes only. We ask that our guests park by the barn and go straight to the lake then to the left around the lake. Trails are marked. It is about a 1 mile trail or more. trails are not plowed open in the winter but are perfect for snow shoeing, hiking an fat tire bikes in the snow on the trails or perfect spring to fall on the maintained trails.

The area behind the house is quiet and peaceful and spacious. There is Chuck sticks and frisbees, but you have to bring your own balls. I always provide freshwater and dog treats and there are chairs for people to sit while their dogs run around. Also the home of Critterville self pet wash, if the dog gets stinky after it runs around it can get a warm bath before it goes home if the pet wash is available at that time.
